Right now I'm a novice (well, 0-0-0-1), and I'm close to getting my first skill. What, in your opinions, is the best tree to go up?

Thanks!

Also- I have two problems: I get about 1,500 fencing points per Dantooine creature with my baton. My curved sword gives 700, with the same speed (but is 130-170 damage). Also, I can't damage lairs with my stun baton. What's up?

Go up the footwork tree first as it gives you the bleed and speed additions. I am getting about 3000xp per quenker or huurton that i kill on dantooine. I always group with a pet but never use the pet unless i am about to die. I am a 0/1/0/3 Fencer.

I mastered using hurton howlers and matrons on dantooine. Pikets are also good but you might want to wait until you have a couple bleed shots to use anda body hit. I put this post up a while back which may also help you out:

Something to point out about Huurtons. Huurton Matrons give justa little less xp than howlers and they don't have a death blow, this could be useful knowledge. The strange thing is that the payout for a howler mission (howlsers have DB) is in the 5500 credit range where a matron is in the 6000-6500 pay range. So you can fight a safer creature and get more money at the same time.

I highly suggest going after mountain worrts on tatooine in your early days of fencer though, I took my character up many skill boxes using these. They are very easy to kill, rarely hit your mind for damage and you can knock them out one at a time without the mob going aggro on you.

SUPER AWESOME. Thanks!

By the way: is Medic 4-0-4-0 good to have while Fencing or should I rely on spice?

i drank enough tat sunburn to need rehab, i preferred the chef goodies over spice, but did use some muon to get my last 20k xp for master...there were also some good mind things from chef too, i can't recall the name, but the bonus was 100 on the 3 mind categoriesand you can drink 3, giving you an extra 300 in each. It was definitely a drink and I couldn't find it by the name it had on the chef tree so my thoughts are that the chef named it something else...

Angerian Fishak Surprise adds 500 to your mind pool, but you can only drink one. I used it for Image Designer, not sure if it would be good for Fencing or not. I'm still trying to get Novice, myself, heh.
