I'm currently a Ranger Pistoleer. I picked up novice brawler last night and working the 1Hmelee line. I am about halfway up to the second skill.

What are the main stats that fencer specials use? Like pistals maily drain your action pool, is this the same for the 1Hmelee? How much does this profession depend on your Strength score? Right now my stats are focused on the action pool for pistals, and being Bothan I get bonuses there. What's the best way to configure your stats for fencer?

Thanks.

It depends on the weapon and the special. Fencer weapons usually have the highest hit on either the Health and/or Action pools. So it at first appears they don't drain that much Mind. However, the HAM cost multipliers on Fencer specialsare much higher on the Mind cost than on the other two. This disproportionately amplifies the Mind costs, often above the other two.

In short, most Fencers weapons eat up the Action and Mind fastest, and are not too bad on the Health. The Stun Baton will literally devour your Mind pool is your aren't careful or highly buffed, and the Gaderiffi Baton will consider your Health to be a tastey snack.

There is a little more detail on this in"FAQ: What is the best Fencer weapon?".

I have swapped stats a lot from novice to master fencer and i'm starting to move them again. I don't know exact numbers so bear with me, if they don't add up i'm just making mistakes since i'm writing it from work and not in front of the game.

First i am zabrak which makes a big difference in mind. My health is around 1175, action around 900 and mind around 700 (these may be higher, but again, mistakes are likely and the proportions are the important thing).

The problem that I have now is that I get inccapped with lots of action left consistently. My health drains but the hits I take on should do that. My mind goes way too fast. What I'm going to do is migrate teh stats so that I have either equal mind and action and a little less health or a little more mind.

I used to use the gaffi stick exclusively until I happened upon an amazing curved sword, so this helps a lot. I do slightly less damage per hit, but take on a lot less damage overall, so the effect is a longer battle.

A word on longer battles, if you use bleed shots, long battles are key. If you jump in spamming specials you will not be as efective as a fencer as you could be. I went from pistoleer to fencer, it took a long time for me to realize the benefit of slowing down (i had the epiphany at fencer 2/3/2/2). Ever since I have found that if I get in the middle of a mob that all con white, i'm not really going to die. I may, but if I COB, bleed and then let the basic hits go with my sword I tend to not get hit and as their health drops i toss in a few dizzy2 and they die off. Again, its a long battle, but when its all said and done, my ham bars are high enough to stay alive, rest and then knock on the lair some more.

I focus heavily on the mind pool. I find mind to be the key to most of my success. I have Novice Medic and 3 blocks of first aid and with some good stim b's can heal upwards of 700 damage so I don't really worry too much about health and action. I think I have my health and action both around 800 and have all my mind stats maxed. I have enough secondaries to get on all of a set of composite armor mid sliced for encum. Keep some muon gold handy and you can run the mile. I am rodian.

Hmm thanks guys I appreciate it. Sounds like I might want to move up my mind stats a little since the action and health can be healed with stims. I might move a little from action to strength as well. I looked at starting bothan brawler, and its mostly in the health pool. And I'll check out the faq, thanks.

I think I'll get up to second skill in brawler, to make the decision. I want to master pistoleer first, then really work this.
