Thread: Biting the dust..hard
Hey you guys its me again. Let me set up the scene for you
my friend has a master doc + master tka
myself Im a master doc + 3 4 2 3 fencer
He and I dueled last night. we had full buffs from the master doc plus fishak (+600 mind) and ryshcate (+481 focus eaten twice for double the bonus) He used power boost, giving himself another +500 or 550 HAM, and I injected a Muon Gold (+600 to all my blue bars)
he wore composite armor, as did I. He used a Vibro Knuckle, I used a powered up gaffi for my bleeds/ and a super sliced stun baton.
On with the show.
KD+Dizzy (1 attack from TKA 0 4 0 0i believe) im on the ground, I get up after 3 attempts
while on the ground, hes attacking my brain, pummeling me to death with his deadly fists of vibro enhanced steel.
I get up with moderate damage, but still kicking, my attacks barely land, yet all his do, I COB, slows down his fury of mind boggling blows yet still connecting considerably with ample damage to back it up. I nickle dime, nickle dime at him. Missing quite frequently with my feather..i mean stun baton. Again I go down KD+Dizzy
And thats all she wrote.
We dueled 4 times, in consecutive order, one right after the other, as I healed up fully and so forth, we didnt DB each other, thank god or else I would be buying a new suit. Each time we fought, I would use a different tactic, bleeds dont affect him since hes got doctor and he can easly wash away the bleeding and suture himself with /firstaid. COB worked in instances of my dazed and blinded state, allowing me to dodge every 4th or 5th blow. Our last fight I almost won because he forgot to replenish his fishak, but I still almost dropped him, since he was using up his mind faster than he could replenish it, and unfortunatly my scattershot 1 doesnt do all that much damage to his mind, but it was at least landing...albeit not often enough.
am I doing something wrong? I hear all over the boards fencers take out mtka's like no tomorrow, yet myself, Im at a 50/50
just thought Id share, and hope for some feedback =)
#1 if he is using composite, use a stun baton
#2 reach master fencer
#3 get master brawler as well
#4 use blind/intimidate/CoB (makes you a lot harder to hit)
most of these work for me. i haven't lost to a pure tkm for a while with these tactics.
unless i used bleed, which after the first set I laid on him was removed rather quickly, i didnt use the gaffi anymore and picked up the stun baton so i was using the proper weapon vs his armor type
i dont think i wanna get rid of master doc
heres my reasons for it
first and formost my buffs
second comes into play in regards to mass pvp where I persue either a roll of first doctor and rarely fighting, or secondary medic and full fighting.
the poison/disease/and other debuff removers are an essential part of my play as a combatant in the GCW.
will the remaining 1 0 2 1 give me alot more effectiveness against the mtka+mdoc?
I mean i LOVE being a fencer, I can unleash hell in mass pvp because people dont expect me to be anything but weak, since I play the role of medic, and target me thinking easy prey, they get pwnd.
any other options other than getting master brawl?
some tactics: 2/2/0/2 right now w/master brawler
use a vibroblade for specials & state changes (low ham cost)
intimidate2
dizzy/lunge2/warcry2 - switch over to gaffi for bleeds
switch to stun and 1hand hit 2
that's the best i can do right now, and i get beat by TKs, but not by much most times
I'd suggest mastering out fencer and then seeing what else you can fit into your template. Focus on melee defense (0004 in TKA or 0004 in pistol gives a good chunk) to improve your chances of being missed.
Use a stun baton on composite wearers if they have no stun layers (there are few if any stun composite suits on my server, one or more of the resources is nonexistant or hasn't spawned in some time) and focus either on bleeds and health hits to knock out that health pool or spam scatter to knock out that mind pool.
I think the most important thing to any fight is to keep COB up as much as possible. This will save your life more than any other single skill. Warcry can help a ton if you can pull it off (even warcry1 buys you a good deal of time, warcry2 buys you a TON of time) and if you remember to drop an intimidate on them (lessens their chance to hit and damage done).

Speaking as a TKM our state defenses are some of the worst in the game. Any state you use will pretty much stick on the first hit.
In an open fight dizzy and lunge are fine but if your looking to perfect your dueling skills using such moves is a waste of time as you will learn nothing but how not to duel effectivly

He's admitted that since Im not a master fencer, its hard to determine who would of won.
And when I saw his mind bar dieing due to him spamming his specials, scatterhit 1 was the choice of moves.
as for other professions, I dont think I am going to get rid of master doctor, so that leaves me with very little in regards to use elsewhere after I hit master fencer =) which ..... should be soon....mwahahaha
on a side note, i dont want you all to think im complaining. I just want feedback and tips is all.
I can careless if they do more damage or that I get beat more often by them or anyone, I just wanted information on what I can do to help me be a better PVP.
so dont take this post as such please, i respect the TKA's the Swordsman's and the Pikeman's, each have their roles alongside the Fencers
