First off, thank you everyone who contributes to this forum. Especially you, Raphayl. You have really helped me learn about our profession.

In trying to figure out how to kill the bigger MOB's, I couldn't find what I was looking for. In looking back, I pretty much wanted someone to spell out, step by step, how to kill a big MOFO. I was having issues killing anything bigger than 3k HAM. So, I am making that guide that I couldn't find. Most of you already know all of this stuff. This is in case another one of "me" comes along.

Me and My Equipment

I am using the default Brawler Human template. I haven't changed my HAM at all from that. This whole guide is without using buffs, spices, meds, self-heals or anything like that.

I have an unsliced Republic Blaster and an unsliced Gaffi Stick. The Gaffi is unsliced because I just found somewhere to buy one finally but the blaster I have no excuse for as to why it isn't sliced. =)

All of my clothing is non-BE enhanced. My armor consists of 50% Ubese Boots, Pants, Chest and Helmet.

I am currently a Novice Pistoleer and a 1-2-1-2 Fencer.

The Animals

Off of someone's suggestion on this board, I went to Tatooine to hunt some Banthas. This turned out to be a GREAT suggestion. I have also found Rontos to be great as well, also on Tatooine.

Here is why these two animals are great. The base type of these animals will not help their herdmates when you attack them. You can just kill them off as you want.

There are different types of these animals. Both have 'Bulls'. Banthas also have 'Matriarchs'. These guys will attack if you attack one of their herdmates and he is within 50m or so of you. In the case of there only being one of these higher level creatures, it just means you attack him first. When he's dead, you can then kill the others.

When there are multiple of the higher creatures, you have to spread out the herd. I just do this by running around inside the herd. Make sure you don't have 'Mask Scent' on as you want them so see you. Sometimes it takes a few minutes but eventually they spread out. Anytime a straggler gets more than 60m from all the other bulls, get him. Anytime a bull/matriarch is more than 60m from another of those higher kind, get him.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: They respawn close to where you killed them. The reason I ever get incapped is because when I'm fighting a bull and the last one I killed spawns and joins in. Either wait for the last guy you killed to spawn or kill the next one 100m away just in case he spawns closer.

Terminology

Bleed: I have 3 bleeds available to me right now. I'm working toward my fourth. If I use a bleed from my pistol and hit peace from 60m out, the bantha will not attack me. The shot didn't do any damage. 15 secs after it hits, it then does the first damage. It repeats 10 times I believe. After that first 15 secs is when the bantha will be angry about being hurt and come running after you.

Stacking Bleeds: This means hitting the same creature with different bleeds. HealthShot1+HealthShot1 won't do anything extra. But HealthShot1+HealthShot2 will. 15 seconds after you each of these, you get the damage from each of them. Add to that the damage from your fencer bleed(s) when he gets into close range.

How To Kill 'Em

I've already gone over how to figure out which animal to attack and how to separate them if needed. Now we get to the specifics of the fight.

I begin with my clothes on. No armor yet. I start off about 60m from my intended target. If he's moving, a little less because you don't want him to get out of range before you're done. For whatever reason, my Republic Blaster has a -0 at 64m for the long range. Seems kinda strange. The close range and medium are both 0m but close is +0 and the medium is -46. Very strange. I think.

First off, make sure you are watching the combat tab of your chat box. This will show you when you hit and what you hit for. Start off with the first pistol bleed. If this is all you have, then hit your peace button as soon as you see that it hits. If it doesn't hit, then hit the bleed button again quickly. Do this until it hits. Next use the second bleed. As soon as it hits, hit the peace button. The key to this is to not let your character try to shoot a normal attack in between these steps. If you can make it without shooting a normal attack, you will hit the peace button and the bantha will just be walking around like normal.

At this point, I usually back up a bit so I have a bit more warning when I see he gets mad. When he starts to charge you can hit him with a warning shot if you want. If you get it to hit, hit peace right away. He'll usually whine and then run away. When the next bleed gets him, he'll come after you. Sometimes, he comes at me after the first warning shot, but it's at a VERY slow walk. I can pistol him to death before he gets there.

I only suggest this if you're having trouble killing it without it. It will let the bleeds do more damage before you actually fence it. Remember, every 15 seconds, both of your wounds have done their damage. My first HealthShot usually does 200-300 and the HealthShot2 does 300-500. So, every 15 seconds he's losing 500-800 health.

I usually put on my armor when he's halfway to me on the initial charge. I do this so that the HAM I lost doing the wounds has as much time to heal as possible. If you don't know, your armor makes it so you don't heal very fast.

Make sure your sword is out at this time too. As soon as he's within range, hit him with your HealthHit1. With my gaffi, it is usually about 525. So now, without hitting him ever again, he's going to lose 1000 health every 15 seconds until he gets to 1 health. I then just attack using normal attacks. My WarCry's never stick, so I don't use that. My specials seem like they don't do enough good go make up for the extra time it will take to heal, so I just don't use them in this instance.

If you get your bleeds on him before he gets to you, this works great. The bleeds are the key. You get no less xp bleeding then if you attack him when he's at 100%. The only reason you don't repeat the warning shot step until he's dead is time. You will get more XP if you kill more of them faster.

After he's dead, I harvest, remove my armor, change back to my pistol, sit down, and let myself heal. When I get 100 health or so away from being healed, I get up and go try to disperse the herd so that my next victim is ready by the time I am 100%.

Here is a breakdown of the XP and HAM for the 5 creatures mentioned -

Bantha - 2.5k HAM - 600xp

Bull Bantha - 5k HAM - 1600xp

Matriarch Bantha - 8k-9k HAM - 2400

xpRonto - 4k HAM - 1100xp

Bull Ronto - 6k HAM - 2300xp

This whole process takes about 6 minutes. I found a herd today that had only one matriarch in it with no bulls. 2400xp/6 minutes = 24kxp an hour. Better than I've ever got doing anything else.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone. Now off to slice those weapons . . .

great post

to add, if you can get a hand from a master doctor to give you buffs. Dathomire is a pretty dangerous place, but a place where you can get even more xp =)

you currently are able to get missions for giant baz nitches, which have low kinetic resists, yet are vulnerable to stun, each giant baz nitch mission holds 6 giant baz nitches, 2 at first arrival, 2 more when you hit the lair once, and 2 more when you get the lair to half. If you can find a place where you can dance around you only ever have to worry about 2 critters ever attacking you. (make sure to wear a helmet with good kinetic protection, they seem to like to hit you in the head) anyways, stick your bleeds on the first one, and if the second one comes, stick your bleeds on that one as well, and just work through them. You can get 4.3-4.7k per giant baz nitch kill, and 4.6k on the lair kill, plus 11k in creds per mission.

I dont even use any specials other than bleeds and just let COB, and auto attack do its thing, less than 8 minutes later, ive timed it =P Im off to the next mission, and usually I can find more on the way to it. if you have fishak and or rishcate, you could also do the red 13k ham Kwi's oooo

but all in all, great post! I wish I had this when i was starting!!
