Thread: Dodge Test Results
Hi all ive just been testing dodge .
I have +105 dodge from fencer here is how the fight went when i was using a gaffi with cob activated.
Out of 21 attempts by a tka master I dodged 6 of them and was missed 3 times.
I have +60 dodge from pistoleer here is how the fight went when using a republic blaster.
Out of 20 attempts i dodged 0 attacks and was missed 11 times.
In conclusion i believe the dodge has been seperated but the fencer dodge is not broken as with the above data you can see it definatly works.

I agree that is what your test results indicate. The only thing I would suggest is a larger sample. I have Dodged up to 15 times in a row, and then been hit 15 times in a row. The random number generator tends to be a random trend generator with highs and lows. I'd get at bare minimum of at least a 100 "hit" sample. Not 100 attacks, but 100 "non-misses". This will give you the Hit vs Dodge percentage which will tell you if your Dodge rate is different.

Yeah, thank you for your time and effort.
The funny thing is that I was helping out a brand spanking new player the other night and he was using a CDEF pistol to hit the noob spawns. He was a wookie, and I actually noticed him dodging a fair amount. Even though his dodge value would be quite low, he also didn't have a lot of other possible evasions before the dodge chance came into play.
The whole thing is very confusing to me to say the least.
i will test with a larger sample but at the time only a few combatants were online and the others could nt connect the the tka was waiting for a shuttle. 50-100 hits would be a better size. ill go do that now.

That's pretty good evidence that the stacking of Dodge, Block, and CounterAttack across professions is no more. Personally, I would prefer a little larger sample, but the above results are highly indicative of a change.
I still want to ask the Devs why they changed it without saying anything.

Maybe the dodge calculation is more complex than we thought? Maybe there is a base for fencer and pistoleer, and the dodge is a multiplier, thereby giving pistoleer and fencer's with the same dodge very different values.
I propose the following test, which i will do as soon as i get another pistol level.
1) Measure your dodge percentage FOR FENCER (>100 hits) at your current dodge level. (>0 pistoleer dodge)
2) get a pistol dodge level
3) measure again
This way you will be able to see directly whether or not an increase in pistol dodge increases the fencer dodge percentage.
I had another part to this, but i forget.

Both pieces of data were collected from dueling a master teras kasi who was using normal swings. I dodged approximatley 3 timesmore when using a 1handed weapon than when i had a pistolequipped.
