Some of you have chosen to pick up fencer out of personal interest, while others have been told to by our wonderful Holiday gifts. Reguardless of the media out of which you got here, we would like to welcome you to our little family. The fencer forums has been one of the most welcoming and supporting, soif you need help and guidence, just ask us.
Fencer is an incredibly fun profession and we hope you enjoy it, too.

Fencer
Thanks MrHyde,
I had been a master pistoleer for about 2 weeks when my "gift' said fencer. This was a good thing, because i was thinking of taking either it or TKA up (I'm much more comfortable doing melee than ranged). I'm halfway through novice fencer at the moment, and I'll tell you, I'm loving it. I gotta admit, being a master doctor and being able to buff myself is making the grind a lot easier. Even though i'll open my other gift when i master Fencer, I have a feeling I'll be coming back to it after my FS chasing is finished.
Thanks for the warm welcome =)
im really enjoying fencing. Its not the power house of TK, but there are some really cool things about fencing that im finding out.
I had orginaly decided to level up the defenses 4/4/4 and go back to TKA, as I droped TK to do holo grinding.
when i finished with my 4/4/4 i decided that i might as well master it, it could be the profession that unlocks jedi for me.
When i mastered Fencing, i had grown fond of the profession , and decided to keep it.
some of the points that kept me from releveling TK, and it was a hard choice as i was a long long time TK.
1) low ham specials ( the TK proffession costs a ton of ham, and i really liked how fencing specials didnt really effect my pools)
2) the weapons ( honestly corny as hell, but they looked good, and i liked how the gafti baton and the stun baton looked)
3) the weapon damage types were another reason. The ability to have stun damage vs composite and turrets, was a big plus
4) the bleeds ( something TK does not have, and something that does stack with pistol bleeds, so thats why i leveled novice pistol) the bleeds are a great pve addition to the class, and i even find it very usefull in some situations in pvp.
5) the defenses are much better, although the loss of the +15ish toughness shows up and i take notice, the defenses are very nice as im a wookiee, and well i get 1 shoted alot hehe
6) KD+dizzy, its only two moves instead of one, and thats acceptable, when needed.
About the only thing that i would say is negative is the accuracy, and the aucutal damage from the specials, are nothing of what TK is, but there are ways to work around that.
and since i love challenges, i find myself more challenged with fencing then with TK, and that could be another reason for my new found passion.
also can't forget the fact that TK consits of about 70+% of the melee population, and when i mastered TK there was a real sense of pride as it was just so painfully rare.
Many many people stayed away from TK because if you remember the ham on the specials were one shoting people.
I know that fencing has had some increases in numbers as well because of the dodge factor but, if you know me, you know i love melee class's. I also wont play slow melee class's anymore, I got sick of that in DAOC with a polearms armsman, so its really only between fencing and TK, and im enjoying Fencing quite a bit.
Thanks for the welcome ![]()
I started Fenceing due to a holocron telling me to do so. I was quite pleased as I was going to try it out anyway. I'd like to know what are the best things to put stats on. As I find Im dieing fairly quickly.
Thanks
