I'm currently 0/2/0/1 fencer, and not getting anywhere. Now I'd like to say I'm a power gamer, play about 8-10 hours a day, but I can't seem to do anything. I've retreated to my player city on tatooine and have been doing mutant womp rat lairs for the last week.

Any advice? I'm using a 2.3, 89-204 curved sword until master footwork in which I'll begin using a 3.5 179-294 gaffi stick. Please help me out, I would like to see what master fencer has in store for me.

I was master tkm before i pursued fencer. I used a gaffi stick the whole time, from brawler 1h1 to master fencer. You're on the right track working footwork first. I'd recommend you to give fort tusken a try. Put on a nice suit of composite with good energy/kinetic resistance and head there when it's busy so you can get some help when things get out of hand. It should go faster. Another way to do this is to have a pet (i'm imp and did this before the pvp only at-st nerf), have the pet keep on attacking a lair then you dot all the mobs then finish them off. That's also fast xp as you can rake in 100k+ xp from a single lair. I'd recommend a decent pet that can take a beating (Ask your CH friend to help if you can).

Basically, you're at the stage of the game where you don't have excellent firepower nor defense. So you have to resort to soloing lowbie mobs or getting help and tackling the bigger games.

My advice is to consider dropping the Curved Sword now. Both the Vibroblade and Gaderiffi Baton will serve you better at this point.

im mpretty much in the same situation, 0102 tho but using a ryyk blade

no, im not using it only for the looks, its been nicely sliced the vibroblade didnt look too hot, yea its got light armour iercing low HAM cost, but im constantly doing mynock missions (lok) and those mobs dont have light armour.. im also a master doc 24/7 buffed to the **edit** so its not like HAM cost is an issue.

gaffi sticks really all 'that' then? dont think ive seen one on chimeara yet

Get ryschate and breath of heavan (maxed out for duration preferably). Migrate your 2nd box stats (str, quick, focus) to at least 600 each. Eat 2 ryschate, 1 boh. Spam the heck out of your specials cuz you no longer have ham cost.

In this game a strong offense often proves to be the best defense.

Go to Dathomir and group with some people, get your foot work tree and it's quick from there. I play 4 hours a day and am easily getting 250 - 400 k xp by soloing Giant Baz Nitches. They spawn two at a time, I bleed them with both a gaffi and a pistol then spin attack them. They give 4200 xp per critter, and the lair gives anywhere between 4500 - 5000 k per. I usually use a Muon and a Tatooine Sunburn and don't have problems getting capped unless I"m not paying attention. Hope that helps.

If you are trying to kill by spamming specials, you would be suffering a lot.

Think defense.

Don't spam specials.

Use the gaffi for kinetic damage, the stun baton for kinetic resist/stun vulnerability, and the vibro blade for armor and to apply bleeds and finish off targets with bodyhits.

Apply bleeds to open combat as soon as you get them.

get some good kinetic armor.

if you have the money, buy some angerian fishak and bivoli tempari to buff your mind without negative side-effects.

Have muon gold on a hot key as an emergency (only and emergency) reserve.

Get buffed if you can by a doctor/entertainer.

Be patient, you don't have to kill fast... in fact that works against the fencer's natural style.

Im currentley 1.2.3.3 in fencer.. i used the Curved Sword to get novice Fencer... then i used the same Sword as goin up thru footwork.. tho i stopped at footwork to and started takeing Dodge skill tree. it sure help me alot when im soloing.. so i would recomend taking footwork to and then move your way up in the ladder with the Dodge tree. u wil get great body hit that helps alot when your grinding exp..

ohh btw use a gaffi stick when u hit 2 in footwork

Never had a problem. Could always buff myself. *smug smirk*

Get a suit of armor. Any armor. Any piece of crap with a kinetic resistance will do. That will improve your survivability.

If you want to solo, learn what not no solo. Be honest about which critters send you packing. Don't hunt them. Don't take missions for them. Avoid crittesr with ranged attacks, as they kite you, which isn't fun.

Pace yourself.

Don't be afraid to whittle away at a group, then go off and sit down. Keep your strength up. Pace yourself.

The better that you get, the worse your XP with a critter. As you get better, you need to fight the tougher critters.

(Three more boxes until master. Yay.)
