Thread: Question on Defenses....What's more important?

Was just wondering if you all thought having higher defenses in blind, dizzy, knockdown, etc.... to be more/as important as say melee defense, and ranged defense.


The template of master fencer/master tka, 0/0/4/4/ pistoleer has higher defenses in dizzy, knockdown, blind, etc... Also has melee defense of +176 and ranged defense +119, also has novice medic


Whereas the template of master fencer/master rifleman, and 0/4/4/4 TK has lower defenses in dizzy, knockdown, blind, but melee defense of +176

and ranged defense of +186, doesn't have novice medic


Just your opinions on what is more important, what is better would be great Thanks for all the help ahead of time!

I'm pretty sure they capped Rangedand Melee Defense at around 130.

dodge, melee and ranged defense are now capped at 125

I don't notice higher melee/ranged defenses making that much of a difference. It helps, but I do notice having a higher defense vs KD a lot.I think you won't notice higher melee/ranged defenses making much of a difference in PvE, maybe more in PvP though.



given your template options though, I think the offense you'd get out of rifleman would more than make up for the lack of defenses, but if it's a purely defensive build you're looking for, then do the pistoleer one.

Melee and ranged defense are capped at +125 as well as secondary defenses (dodge, counter-attack, and block). Defense vs. <status> is not capped but after having +90 to any of them, it's almost impossible to apply that status or posture anyway.

I'm not 100% sure but with the def. cap coming at i believe 125, you should re eval.

melee defense and ranged defense are primary defenses, they are tallied first


dizzy, knockdown, blind defense are secondary defenses and are put into equation after melee/ranged


melee and ranged are def ones you want alot in since you can eat food to raise your KD defense and use center of being to help with secondary defenses

1st Line of Defense- Ranged/Melee Def.

2nd Line of Defense- Dodge, Block, Counterattack, etc.

3rd Line of Defense- Ranged/Melee Mitigation to make it hurt less
