as its stands i'm novice fencer, was gonna go 4440 to support my swordsman in defenses (fencer defenses rock) but I figured if i'm gonna go that far I might as well master so I can have options for PVP (plus i have 300k combat exp doing NOTHING).

question 1: i've been using the curved sword to grind to novice and can now use a baton, and i've come to find out those are loot only? is that correct? (seriously not sure) what would a "decent" baton to look for when looting or buying?

question 2: i was going to go x2xx first to get the +20speed.. helped out with swords, i assume this is the way to go am i correct? (FYI i am a master brawler so i have +5 there and I have +11 in AA's) after that i was going to go to x21x to get Body Hit 2, finish up the 2nd column, then the 3rd column, then do all the first column... sound about right?

thanx for helping in advance

1. Stun batons are mostly made by weaponsmiths. If you are just grinding I usually use a gaffi but a normal stun baton will work. If you wanted to use a stun baton for pvp you should look for a 300+ ones.

2. I would go all the way up the speed tree because it also gives you an area attack and that is the only thing you will use to grind with. You also could go up to dizzy2 because it is the strongest area attack

he meant gaffi sticks (really called gaderiffi batons) use a crafted gaffi until you hit master, because of a higher dmg output you'll do better with one of these instead of a stun baton. get one from your friendly local weaponsmith.

oh i know that speedmods don't stack between professions... i'm stacking def mods (ranged, melee, dizzy, kd)

i have +12 points in skilltapes for speed if that's where the confusion is

already got me a nice aklay baton with a 220 mx damage and a 3.0 as, which won't matter soon, have yet to get the gaffi stick, which i will tonight

thanks guys, i went with the xx1x box first to get the higher damage health pool attack, and will go x4xx next, then xx4x, then 4xxx

well with a stun baton you can rip through alot of the mobs on dantooine like pikets and huurtons; however alot of those mobs dont have high kinetic resits so your domage output wont be that much different, unitll you hit mobs with light armor...
