Do you fencers read the other melee forums?
I finally did some poking around, and came to the following conclusions.
1) every melee profession wants more damage
2) every melee profession wants more defenses
3) every melee profession wants better weapons
4) every melee profession wants better DOTS
5) every melee profession (save for TK) wants more specials for single HAM hits
Oh, wait... that's every melee profession except fencer. Once in a while, this forum has a post regarding fencer damage, but for the most part, we seem to understand our place in SWG. I get frustrated that I take much longer to kill creatures, but I knew that coming into the profession.
Our defs are great (so ar TK), and our damage sucks. If everyone had great defensess, great damage, and great specials, why would there be a need for specific brawler classes?
I'm glad I chose to be a fencer. Not only do I love the profession, but the folks that also chose it understand their strengths and weaknesses, and play on.

I see myself hitting for 1000's sometimes and wish it was more. I see myself not get hit 5 times in a row and wish it was more. Yad yada yada. That's just the way it goes. I dont care if I'm the most powerful, I still want more. That's what everybody, especially anybody who'se ever met their math in a PvP match wants.

Wow, that is so true. I am the same way, but I try to think I am not. That was deep, well said

Im a D stacker, didnt realise it at the time of mastering my proffs. The day i started i went tk, then i happened to see a fencer at work, and thought wow, im going to master that as soon as i finish tk. This was way back in the beggining when i didnt read the forums, queued up for a buff not knowing what it was for, and finding i didnt have enough credits till the guy behind payed for it. Back when i knew nothing about damage types and output, nothing about speed and defence.
I chose my two proffs because of the moves, i use fencer most as i prefer to watch 1hHit3 being spamed instead of tk.
I have never complained about weapons or lack of, i know now what is available and will have to make do, if i wanted more damage i would change proffs, there is no point in us all being equal.
If it takes me half an hour to get to the end of the geo caves as fencer, then so be it, im in no rush. I enjoy watching a fencer cutting down npc's with finesse, than watching a swordsman pausing for what seems like ages between moves. If i need more clout when hunting i group with swords and cm.
I dont see me dropping fencer any time soon, i f dropped any, it would be tkm for swords.
Long live fencer (and with our dodge, we usually do lol)

I need some more defenses... Damage is fine, but I'm still searching for a 1k+ LVA, muhaha! As soon as I drop merchant (lol) I'm going to pick up some fencer trees
