Nice post by the Fencer Cors. concerning the stacking of mods.

Like him I dont advocate nerfing the professions, I am tired of that. I do wish that they would allow the dodge, counterattack and block to all stack so as you fail the dodge test it would go to the block then to counter attack (the order is not important to me). This would at least benefit those ppl in the elite melee professions who spend their time and skill points so they arent wasted. As it stands now, if you spend all your points in melee you will have benefits that dont stack (same for the various shooter elite professions, pistoleer, rifleman and carabineer). However, you never see a pistoleer who dabbles in rifle or carbine, they opt for smuggler or perhaps a BH who dabbles in pistoleer. That option doesnt exsist for those who prefer to stay all melee.

So, I am just saying it would be nice and more benefical to the melee professions since there is no hybrid we can move onto.

I think that the reason behind not allowing them to stack is more of a "nerf" to ranged and not melee. The problem is that it also effects melee. I played the Pistoleer/BH/Smuggler combo and you end up mastering nothing and dabbling in everything and it gets boring. Then I decided to drop that char and create a new character. I love the look of a Fencer and now I love the damage. Chasing ranged fighters kinda sucks, maybe to "balance" things master melee classes should be a little bit faster then non-melee masters.

The thing is, learning combat defense movements with a sword, is a lot different than learning those same movements with a Pistol.

Learning to Counterattack with a sword, is greatly different than learning to counterattck with a Carbine.
