Thread: I have seen the light Gaderiffi
For a long time there I was using my trusty Rykk to kill my stuff. I keep reading here about people that like their Gaffi. The ones I had seen didn't have very high damage. I bought about 5 219 max dmg ones and had them sliced. 2 of them sliced for 22% dmg.
So I went out and got a crate of 220max dmg ones. These are the best I have been able to find on Eclipse. If someone knows a WS that makes better let me know. I had all 25 sliced and ended up with 5 of them with over 30%dmg 2 of which were 33%dmg.
So with a powerup it makes it a 172-339dmg 3.3spd beating stick. I was original heading for 0-0-4-0 but stopped and started to train 0-4-0-0. Well what a difference that second skill box and the +20 speed makes. I hit fast with that thing now. Don't know what the effective speed decrease on a weapon is at 0-2-0-0 but it is a very noticeable difference. More hits in means bigger stuff means more experience.
Now I see why people use gaffi's instead of rykk's because at first glance at the stats it doesn't stand out.
Oh and if anyone on Eclipse wants one of the other 30+dmg sliced gaffi's send Haps a tell.
actually... at footwork 4 you dont really get THAT much faster... and master does nothing... all thanks to our dear friend known as the speed cap of 1.0 second. god i hate that thing... -_-
maybe you just THOUGHT you were going faster then you really were... ![]()
Carry a couple different kinds of powerups with you. You'll want/need mind cost reducers for the stun baton, and health cost reducers for the gaderiffi. They make a big difference. The Ryyk and curved are more balanced in the drains and are harder to effectively powerup, but you can always try to minimize the damage where you are weakest.

actually, at master, my specials now hit the cap with certain slower weapons. which means when i use warcry for a 10 second delay, i can get in 10 Sai Toks instead of 5-7 before master. with my slow gaffi, that is.
at footwork IV, i definitely noticed a difference because i was fighting the exact same thing, and i'm always staring at the combat spam to watch for what specials they're doing, and status effects, etc. it didn't make a huge difference, but it was noticeable when i get three attacks between each of theirs where before i was getting one.
