Thread: Do fencer defenses work with other melee?

Well, I was a bh for a pretty long time so defenses are quite new to me. I was wondering if fencer defenses apply to you when you are using another melee weapon like a pike. If only some of them do can you tell me which ones?

melee and ranged defense can be stacked from goin to other professions, ie if u go TKM with fencer you melee and ranged defense will work on both. HOWEVER ur dodge or block, counterattack can only work with the equipped weapon. example if your master fencer and master pikeman, and you equip a polearm you will get ur block bonus from pikeman but not dodge from fencer.


melee and ranged defense are primary defenses and can be used in conjunction with other profs.


dodge, block, counterattack, etc and secondary defenses and can only be activated with your equipped weapon


ranged and melee mitigation are 3rd and just help in long run

See if I can get this right - someone'll help fix it if there's something off here.


Your main fencer skill is dodge. Dodge will stack with pistoleer dodge, but does not work if you do not have a 1h weapon, either a fencer or pistoleer weapon equipped. Mee


Melee and ranged defense will always stack, up to 125, which is the cap for all skills, except for when food has been eaten to increasea skill.


Your "defenses" versus blind, stun, dizzy, knockdown, posture down, and posture up will work regardless of what weapon you have equipped up to 125 cap also.

Incorrect, all of these defenses are not capped. Just melee/ranged, dodge, block, and counter attack are capped at 125.

Really kewl...I new something was up..My KD is like 140 and dizzy like 132 and I have recieved several comments in duel concerning my defenses I dont really care about KD...I fear dizzy as a non medic but thats about it....Intimidation is also a pain..trust me intimidation really hurts their damage output and my def to intimidate is only 37
