So what do people hope and think will be our fate with the combat revamp?
I honestly don't think all that much will change for us DIRECTLY. We have great defenses, but are kind of low offense, this is balanced. This can be seen by how well we tank in places like the Geno caves, but we just take forever to kill stuff there.
However, I expect INDIRECTLY things to change a lot.
What I mean is this. Currently a Fencers best advantage, our defense really doesn't matter. With good armor, buffs, and good medic skill, in most places it really doesn't matter how much you get hit. This allows the weaker defense classes, yet super high offense proffessions to excel, 2hSword is a great example. They hit far harder then a fencer, yet have worse defenses, yet due to buffs and armor, their lower defenses don't matter.
So my hope is that when the rebalance is done, not much changes for us, we are fairly balanced, yet that if Armor and Buffs get nerfed, Defense may actually matter.
Thoughts?

If buffs and armor are nerfed, I think we will see a bit more balance in PvP. Fencers will still have the defense, but other professions will be able to do more credible damage.
However, I also believe that the high-end mobs-- Corvette, Death Watch, NovaTroopers, etc., were designed in response to how common buffs and armor had become in the past six months. I'm sure they intend for many mobs and locations to be group-based, but it seems like the armor and HAM on a lot of these mobs will come back in scale like everything else. That should help fencers out.

I believe it was in TH's Profession Questions stating that the Dev's really like the way fencer is and how it works currently and don't see any changes comming into play for awhile. Or something like that, i'm too lazy to go hunt for the post and copy/paste it.

About the only change I see is that because they will be balancing armour, stun damage weapons will no longer be the must have weapons in PvP.

Oasa, Yes COB is great for PVP, or if you don't have buffs. But if you have good composite, and buffs, it doesn't really matter if you get hit. You get hit for 150, out of 3k, but with your buffed secondaries that is back in no time. I rarely ever use COB, unless I am fighting Krayts or something like that, hardly on day to day hunting.
