Thread: Question about Dizzy

When I use the One-Handed Dizzy attack, what exactly does it do? I was under the impression that if the oppnent attempted a posture change, they would fall down. However, when I use One-Handed Lunge, the dizzy state is removed from the enemy when they get up. Is this a bug?

you have to force a posture change/knockdown in order for dizzy to do anything - when the target tries to stand up, they will fallon their ass- it *ONLY* works on NPCs/PCs, and the dizzy state clears after one KD

actually the dizzy clears after one posture change. if they are successful it clears, or if they fall down it clears. Keep in mind that dizzy only has a chance to knock someone down when they attempt a posture change up.

So I take it that means you knock 'em down then smack em with dizzy?

Ah, thought it was simply very short lived, kinda makes sense of what was happening.

no, I always make sure they are dizzy and then use lunge. sometimes it takes 2 times for dizzy to stick, and by that time they would have already stood up.

There's this discussion going on that these two people in my guildcan't agree on so I figured I'd end it for once and for all and just ask you guys, the experts.

Is there any swordsman attack that has an undocumented ability to dizzy your opponent?

Not sure about undocumented, but area attack 3 and 2 handed hit 3 both can dizzy an opponent. Area attack 3 can also cause a posture change.

I've had the posture change happen, but that is documented. I've never once had a dizzy happen on any of the attacks mentioned though and dizzy is not documented in the description.

Are you sure these attacks actually dizzy?

Yes, Area 3 and hit 3 dizzy quite frequently in PvE. In PvP its hard to dizzy someone with high dizzy defense though.

Thanks. Why can't they just document this stuff?
