i had this exact issue when i was grinding fencer as my mastery and was low cl , i think there is a cap based on your cl or somthing...anyways...what i did was just spent the combat xp i had in the marxman xxx4..when i reached my previous "cap" i kept on going...maybe u need a certain amount of combat xp used...b4 you can go higher, i dont know...but that worked for me.

Same thing happened to me as well. I had to resort to getting Marksman 0004. It shouldn't be like this, though, so I'm going to hope it's a bug.

Hello all,

I have a friend in game that is new to SWG and these forums, so i am posting for him.

Basically, he is 1110 in fencer right now. he has 50k combat xp and the combat xp line needs 60k to get xxx1 in. but when he fights he no longer gains combat xp, thus not getting the 10k combat xp still needed and his trainer does not train him( so should not be a visibility problem for xp) ANy thoughts on this?

Well it's not a fencer bug, Sounds like you're bugged, try using another weapon to see if you gain any Cexp aswell

Interesting I'll test this and see if there is a hard cap for combat xp if you don't have xxx4 Marksman. Then that hurts any melee profession. Thanks =)

IMO, a better option is to grind out the two-handed and polearm trees and spend 35k Combat Experience on Master Brawler. That gives you a high enough cap to get into the Fencer Finesse tree, plus something that'll be useful while grinding the rest of Fencer.

Yeah, but by then you're capped and you won't get about 20k Combat XP that you should be getting.
