Thread: Time for a new Rep IMHO
Casper has done a fine job, going above and beyond his call of duty. He followed the Fan Fest completely, and attended it as far as I know, explaining and questioning what needed to be done for the fencer class and game as a whole. Casper works very hard and has listed the top fencer issues time upon time again, and even presented them with well thought out fixes, but you underestimate how hard it is to get their attention. Right now, the devs are focused on Jedi, and they probably always will be. Even since Raph's days and correspondent fencer's have gotten almost no attention except when defense stacking arose and because of other classes taking our trees, we were nerfed.
I trust that Casper tries, very hard, to get the devs to help us, but you must realize, that every class is in as bad shape as us (some better, some worse), but they aren't recieving anything as well. For most classes besides Jedi its hard to recieve anything, and for fencer, which has one of the lowest populations in the game, its increasingly difficult.
I'll be behind Casper until he steps down himself, or the developers re-appoint one on their own accord, but I think he's doing a damn fine job. There is a lot more work involved than is evident, and Casper is doing it all.

There has been no evidence whatsoever that Casper has been neglecting his duties. You seem to be confused that a correspondent is an actual member of the development team who can push things through. Obviously that's not the case...not for Fencers, nor any other profession (otherwise Smugglers would be actually...you know...smuggling, Entertainers would have value, etc.)

I never said neglect. I never said he hasn't tried. I said he has no results. It's not personal I don't know him, but it is about getting something done. It is not about traveling, and writing forum posts. It is about results.
Fencer has seen NO results in the possitive. NONE. Animations do not count
He might be the nicest guy in the world, but anyone tell me when the last update was that helped the fencer profession?
No really tell me! I really want to know.
Yes I was at Fan Fest and spent a few minutes in front of everyone going over how weak bleed was and Dave White the dev (Keldarin) said he would look into the power of them back then but I haven't heard much about it since then. You have to understand there are 40! other Correspondents that ALL have issues and we all want things fixed or a DEV response on every issue we have, but we can't sadly. Time the DEV's spend responding and reading every post in the forums personally is time away from the code and fixing things. They have meetings daily with Tiggs and TH who gather all the information we post and give it to them.
I'm sorry if I am a little quiet on the forums some times I have work and sometimes try to have a life outside SWG =).
Trust me they know our problems, if you want an example of a profession who has had problems the last 2-3 months and got no attention is Tailor, this profession had something working that was one of their biggest money makers (Bio-Clothes) to have broken with a patch after the CU, It is STILL not fixed.
I don't decide when and what gets fixed, I push for OUR issues to get fixed and looked at but I do not manage the dev's and tell them what issues to work on.
If you are getting the idea of me stepping down from some of the other Correspondents asking if they should step down and let someone else try or if they should stay, that is because they have been a correspondent for 6 months to almost 2 years. So I have no plans on stepping down in the future any time soon
It is time for another poking with the attention stick on the Correspondent forum.
Also for what it's worth, The DEV's just announced to everyone that they are gonna hold back on content for a few publishes and get some of the bugs squashed before they move forward and give us some really awesome things =). Hopefully everyone gets some love with in that time period.
