Here is Swg Damage Calculator for those you dont know about it
Add your weapons stats and your character speedandget the damage on all styles and the modifiers of each style
http://www.killyourpc.org/swg/swg_dps.php?weapon_min=0&weapon_max=0&weapon_speed=0&pc_speed=0&class=Fencer
You need to calculate the PvP damage reduction and food reduction and any other reduction by armor mitigation etc

I have used this calculator a lot, but I cannot understand the damage-numbers.
I am master and can hit every second with any special attack with my current baton.
In the combat window I do from 1800-2900 pr. second, but the calculator says much less.
What is it that I don't get?

This calculator takes into account the damage range on the weapon, so you get an average, which isn't very accurate. To see the potential of the weapon, enter into the calculator the min as matching the max. I'm under the belief that the moves themselves have variations on damage modifiers, too though, so I think even that is somewhat less than accurate.

Most of the variation in damage comes from Accuracy, and how it effects min to max output.
It's much like the White Wolf Table Top World of Darkness system.
How much you win the attack roll by gets factored in the damage role (which uses the min/max range of the weapon) and then multiplied/divided by the various modifiers.
Or more simply put... if you just barely hit your opponant you will score towards the minimum of the damage range... if you score a well placed hit you will hit towards the maximum of the damage range.
And that variation is SO great in PVP and PVE that it becomes almost pointless to calculate.
Not to mention I have more fun when I "feel out" the capabilities of weapons I pick up rather than useing a calculator to tell me how good it is. I know what a min/max will hit for roughly, but not being a min maxer (to an extreme), I generally just use whatever feels right, relying on memory and trial and error.
(Not to say I won't size up an NPC opponant by viewing their armor rateings. /grin)
