I read an interesting post in another forum this past week about the fencer profession.

The person who wrote it claims that they successfullyFeign Death'ed and that a Master Fencerused a Posture-Up attack that broke the Feign.The poster's opponent then finished him with a rather wicked baton.

Ok, perhaps I COMPLETELY missed something in Fencer school when I graduated to Master...

But do we have a posture-up attack that can break a Feign Death?!!!!!!!!

This player promised he would post results of his guildmates testing his claim.

Only rifleman have a posture-up attack. He probably had a rifleman or something behind him that used Startle-shot (Thats the name of it right?), while he was whacking away and the Feign was broken so he thought "Oh wow I just posture-up'd him and broke it!"

.. just a theory.

omg i gotta go try this out. wow if i can break FD with a quick 'ole strafeshot (clears cover so that might work) or flushing shot (stun + posture up) I'd have to crap my pants! im goin online right now to find a smuggler so i can try this out

Agreed on the rifleman post...however, this player claims that it was a 1 on 1 w/a Master Fencer. I posted asking that he please post the combat scroll.

Again any Master Fencer's know ANYTHING about this???

Supposedly, the rifleman posture-up specials no longer work against people who are feigning.

The only reason I can think of why a fencer would be able to do this would be because of the posture downbugthat sometimes causes opponents to stand if they were already knocked down when the posture change landed. But I've never heard about this happening before we had smuggler/jedi, so I couldn't be sure.

It is possible that the FD just didn't work.

As far as I know, there is nothing that can currently break a FD, so like Minerunner said, likely it just didn't work. I'll go overt, run to Theed, and just /feign and leave my toon there for a couple hours. We'll see what kinda stuff people try to get me up, and if any of it works

this apprently used to work, i belive they fixed it (or tried to) and mayb it is broken agai or sumthin

I've actually done this on more then one occasion, see a gank squad? just feign

And i tell you, they get more then just abit desperate after ways of getting you up. Allways ends with some name calling from their side while I go fetch some food or something

chances are the rifleman was using DoTs on him while he was feigning and the smuggler got tired and wanted to tie instead of insane wounds a BF.
Im a smuggler 0010/mfencer/tkm and i stand up while im pounded while im overt cause cause of teh wounds a BF. posture up dosn't work, forget out it. with 5 rifleman using it on you i would know. fin
