Hello Fencers.

Im looking to become a Fencer, and have a few questions.

Firstly, I really like the look of the Gaderiffi Stick, and I was wondering if it was a good all-round weapon to use. I am currently a Doctor, so HAM costs aren't that much of an issue for me.

Secondly, I like to PvP. I understand there are some changes on TC that will (hopefully) be making melee classes much more viable in PvP. However, I still have a concern about being kited. I don't think I would enjoy that. However, Im a newb to Fencer and melee in General, so feel free to set me straight on that if it is not the case.

If any of you experienced Fencers could give me some advice on current tactics, or your thoughts on upcoming changes and how they will affect PvP for melee (specifically fencer)...they would be greatly appreciated.

Well the Gaderiffi is slow, and that's the only problem for the low level fencers, the higher level fencers can overcome that usually.

As for kiters, use one-handed lunge 1 and one-handed dizzy 1 and you can keep them down on the floor at your mercy for long enough to slice them up, if you're forced to use such a cheap immobilisation tactic

the gaffi stick is great for you because it may have high heath costs, but the mind costs are tiny, so you can heal yourself still

The gaffi stick is an excellent weapon once you've made some progress in the Footwork line of of skills. I was able to weild my Gaffi at the same speed as my speed sliced (1.6) curved sword at Footwork IVor at least close enough to that speed that it wasn't noticiable; all while doing 100 more damage on my max damage. Overall averaging about 1400 with Melee1HandHit1. That weapon really made it possible for me to finish the fencing profession. I used a curved sword until I got to Footwork IV.
