Fencer Archive

I have finally completed fencer. I became Master Fencer at 10:00 P.M. EST. Been playing since 2nd week. Not at all a record in speed accomplishing it but it's been a fun and challenging road. I haven't looked back once, I truly believe this is the profession for me.

so far Fencer is definitely the profession for me, as well. any special advice you have to pass down on advancing more efficiently?

Progressing more effeciently? Well. I started quite slowly in the profession, just exploring the planets, meeting different people, etc. This is my first character so I had the learning of the game happening for the first couple weeks of play. I began as a musician/fencer combination. The musician was fun and I met a lot of people. Mastered it about a month ago.

So anyway, after I mastered musician I had the inspiration to master fencer. At that point I was 1-3-2-2 in fencer.

I grinded off some Nargs on Moeina and got footwork IV. That really opened my eyes to the profession. I set off to Dathomir with a medic friend and an aspiring TKA and grinding the rest of the profession in about 4 days. I picked up 2 defiler missions to tne North from the science outpost and so did my friends. Once in a while picking up an extra couple people (no more than a group of 5 or 6). Killed defilers for 4-5K weapon XP and made some great money. I don't know really know how I got so possessed to do itbut I couldn't stop until I mastered it for some reason. I had to surrender my musician for the extra points. Now I'm working on some unarmed to pick up additional defenses also. Good luck. Once you get footwork IV, get yourself a nice damage sliced Gaffi stick, throw on some bleeds early on, and fence your way to happyness.

that sounds almost exactly like what i'm currently doing. so i must be on the right track. i'm going a bit slower, but i'll get there. can't wait for body hit 3. i use body hit 2 so much, i think it'll be as big an improvement as master footwork was.

I'm happy too. I like being a Fencer. I like to be the guy being beat on by mobs and keeping the beasties off of the ranged guys. Last night, while getting unarmed XP for brawler, I was totally surrounded by Giant and Female Mawgaxes and Giant Grackle Bats thanks to a horrendously bad pull.I switched over to my 1h curved and in no time flat, I was standing in the middle of a pileof corpses. I stacked a couple bleeds on each one and then whittled them down to nothing in no time. That was great fun and nice to have a master skill as a backup when needed. Unfortunately, I was not buffed, but I was wearing full composite from head to toe... I'm such a tank! hah!

I hear talk of Fencers being broken or not as good as others and while that may be the case, it did not stop me from reaching master and I had fun the whole time it took me to get there. So I am happy too.

If they add the changes that are supposedly on test center, I'll be even more happy. We're talkin' permagrin over here.
