Thread: Raphayl, in regards to the TC stuff...
Hey boss lady, Iunderstand thatyou don't have any real power other than the role of mediator between the community and the devs, butI'd like foryouto use that little power to relay a message to them:
all changes pertaining to the 5 brawling classes (especially the fencer defense increase)in TC are something they must implement.
I am sure that any member of this community who is aware of these changes would agree that they are indeed necessary, and very much appreciated. If anything, try a vote so that we could prove it to them. I know that it's a lot of work compiling and whatnot, so I'd gladly take the load off your hands in this case as I feel that the changes on TC are amazing, theybring the brawling classes closer to the ranged ones (I agree that we should be weaker, no argument in not being equal), and more importantly that they bring fencers more in line with the other brawlers. So please do whatever you can, thank you.

no one that plays this game is gangster enough to be shot 9 times, unless it was with a bb-gun or a swg nerf fully automatic
Hey Raphayl,
It sounds like the changes are pretty sweet for fencer. I just achieved level 3 in footwork and have level one for the combat xp skill. I now do the new special that comes with the level 3 and it sucks down the ham big time. I almost couldn't believe my eyes. So yeah, if they have made good changes I hope that they migrate them to the live servers. I didn't realize how bad it was until getting the new skill. Wow...
Awon, don't get me wrong, I think we should be able to pwn a ranged player if we get in close, but think about it,the fact that we have the limitation of needing to be closer is umm, i dunno, a weakness. The fact of the matter is, most players are not dumb enough to let you get in close, but luckily with the new center of being ability, kiting won't be as bad as masters (of elite professions) will have a hefty chunk of additional evasion. As for you being shot 9 times in real life, I'm so sorry to hear that, but you forget that in the star wars universe, blasters as a whole are much stronger than ones in RL...poor Greedo.
Actually, this whole thing about being closer to the ranged professions isn't even the main point of my original post. The important thing here is that it brings fencers closer to the other melee classes, an issue that has seriously been bugging me since I started. And to save myself from needing to repost, yes, I am aware that some of you have beaten another melee character in pvp, but there aretwothings you may want to consider: 1. you're more leet than they are, 2. they are a lower level than you are. However, if you both were at the master level, and you still won, then it really is that you're a smarter player than you're opponent. Trust me, I've won some master vs. master battles myself, but only because I knew what I was doing moreso than he/she.
To prove my point, you, with your leet skills should try picking up any of the other brawling classes and see for yourself how much easier (near exponentially, imo) it is to kill things.
I know I have been saying "IF" we get these changes in every post that has asked this type of question, and you know the reasons I have to say that. But to be more specific, it's probably more of a matter of determining the extent of these changes that should be implimented rather than if we get them. Based upon the amount of feedback coming in from all of the combat class correspondenets the devs are quite aware that we are excited about these changes. Perhaps they willall go in as they are right now, perhaps they will be toned down across the board, perhaps they will increased across the board, or perhaps they will end up being tweeked individually.
Regardless of the final extent in which these will be implimented, they also may not all be patched in to live servers all at the same time. It's very possible they will be installed in segments over a few patches. It's important to realize that in case some combat classes get their improvements in the first patch, and others don't. Or perhaps all combat classes get some improvements in the first patch, but not the ones you feel are the most valuable. By keeping in mind that it's better to only patch in so much at a time (for a big lump orf reasons) it will keep everyone from going berserk if it appears at first that something or someone may have been left out. We just need to be patient on this.
The best way to help make a difference in which upgrades patched into TC make it to the live servers is to make a character on TC, test things out, and let the correspondent of your profession know the results of your testing. We will add it in with the results of our testing and submit it to the devs. That way we can say that it is the results of multiple tests rather than just a single person's test. It lends more weight to the results. On that note, I am putting together a Fencer Test Team on TC for this very purpose and I'm looking for people that enjoy that sort of thing.
