Thread: Raph, can you verify something...

Hey there Raph, sorry for the boldness, but there is an issue I seem to be having with the current effects of dizzy. Simply put, it just doesn't work, or if it does, surely not frequently enough. According to the patch dizzy was supposed to possibly knockdown the person again when trying to stand from a knockdown, however, I've been using the kd + dizzy (lunge 2, sorry to those who didn't go master brawler) combo quite a bit since they fixed the kd bug, and i've yet to see dizzy effectively keep anything down. be it pve or pvp.

What I am asking is if you could please verify this observation (I know you have a lot to do, so please, no rush)and if (more likely when) you find the same results as me, could you please take it up with the devs? I mean I love the animation and all, but using ham for a broken ability just doesn't sit well with me. Thank you.

I know I'm not raph, but I'm just putting in my 2 cents. I find the lunge dizzy combo to be working perfectly in both PvE and PvP, but awhile back I changed it from lunge dizzy, to dizzy lunge. Just make 100% sure that the enemy is dizzy'd before lunge'n and they stay down for atleast 5secs usually. Now since I lost master brawler yesterday to grab doctor, I can't confirm this against animals, but I know it works against humanoids. I'm sorry if this doesn't help, and that I'm not raph

Ches, thank you for responding, but like you anticipated, we're sort of talking about 2 different cases here. However, I would also like to note that dizzy + lunge1 does not seem to be working against creatures (i've not tried that in pvp yet) But to get to the point, with added clarity, the real problem I am having is that I've not once gotten the second kd that we are (potentially) entitled to when a character is already kd but still dizzy. The 5 sec downtime i believe is the normal duration of the new kd. Ithink this because I watch the posture status icon of whatever I am fightingand theyare just in a kd state for the whole of the downtime. For what I am looking for(the 2nd kd from a dizzy),the posture should go from a kd state, to standing and then right back to a kd (obviously) and it has not happened ever. So Raph please find time to look into this, b/c as of now, any fencer who took the extra step in becoming a master brawlershould find dizzying useless (the ham cost of lunge2 by itself is much less than a lunge1 + either of the dizzies). Thank you.

I can say in PvP my opponents, ones without KD defenses even often never hit the dirt with my combos. Also, its rare for them to fall down again if they get up.

I find that the Dizzy+Lunge combo to not be working at all in PvE against creature mobs. It hasn't worked once for me.

I have never managed to keep an NPC character down for for than two seconds before they stand again with the lunge/dizzy. As for PVP, I'm still evilly effective and can keep people down for 20 seconds to a minute or more, but often the animation doesn't even complete b efore they stand again, when they hit the floor they stand straight back up with less than a seconds delay?

I'm sorry that I didn't get back to this post after the testing. But the testing was done as promised. A problem was discovered, andwas relayed to the devs. As part of the results there is now a 5 second minimum timer associated with these types of statis effects so they hold on for at least 5 seconds if the target has no passive defenses against it, such as Combat Equalibrium.

if i understand correctly, it's not supposed to work on creatures. only on humanoids. the reason being creatures have too many legs, etc. this was a while back, and may have changed though. i'll try to dizzy/lunge some rancors or something and see what happens.

er. maybe durnis. i keep forgetting i'm a *fencer*.
