I am currently a 1.4.2.2 Fencer and have been trying to hone some melee skills. I've always either played a ranged character or a mage in previous games so getting right in the face of an opponent is a new experience for me.
How are Fencer's defending vs. Dizzy and KD... It is driving me nuts that, even fully buffed (I'm also a Master Doc), I get hit with a Dizzy/KD and I spend the next (what seems like an eternity) few minutes flopping around like a fish out of water. This essentially is defeating any chance of success in PvP.
Granted, I know I am at a disadvantage by not having Master Brawler... and not having Warcry 2 doesn't help either.
How are you guys countering this approach when your fighting?
Also, since /follow seems to only work while on a speeder, how are you guys closing the gap against kiters? Even I know the best way to not get hit by a melee is to stay out of range... But without an effective stopping attack, I spend more time chasing than I do actually making contact.

Mostly just looking at the kiting problem with ranged fighters, one handed dizzy and one handed lunge do wonders - it usually stops kitters in their tracks. Atleast for me, and as for the KD and Dizzy of the TKM, I have no advise - because I get owned as well.

The lack of Brawler is unfortunate and it does put me at a disadvantage but it can't be helped if I want to stay Master Doc.
I've tried the Dizzy/Lunge move but it doesn't seem to root an opponent, maybe Dizzy2 with the Lunge will be more effective... Ie., the Dizzy will be enough to actually facilitate the posture change with the lunge.

I've stacked some defense vs. knockdown from other professions to eliminate this problem.

I did the same, just got footwork 4 and master pistoleer and now have 100 kd def, so even when they do dizzy me, it takes about 10 try's to kd. But at the mo i'm not using my fencing skills cos i get owned so i just kite and they can't kncok me down so i win

The answer is be a tkm/mfencer/masterswordsman and see your melee opponents die no matter what they try to do. Most ranged will die also. Other than that I dont know what has worked for other proffesions against the UnarmedKD2
