To tell the truth, all you need is a crappy sword, some good bleed attacks, and a vehicle.

Find a bigass creature (ravenous tortons, rori), bleed them, get em to chase you around in your vehicle until they are the lowest they can be in the pool you bled them, and then hit em once for full exp.

I gotta make my whole way through fencer like that.

I have a Fencer 0-0-0-0/Weaponsmith 2-1-0-4/Master Artisanon Starsider andthe best Fencer 'swords' I have found (or made) are Gaffi Sticks (Gaderiffi Batons). I have a good Curved Sword, a nice Ryyk, and adecent Stun Baton (I have never seen a Stun Baton that can stack up to the other 1h weapons, because the Bythrosis crystals needed are never very high in SR), but I haveyet to seeone that matches a Gaffi Stick for DPS.

Personally, I like using sliced weapons and light armor. You don't want the incumberance high. Right now, I am using a sliced gaffi stick and I forget the name of the armor. Marubi or somthing like that. Anyway, it is a neat look. I also have a sliced stun baton which is nice on creatures that resist kenitic damage. The other poster is right about the health shots, but I prefer to just take on creatures that I can handle. You get points for the damage you cause, but I never liked the idea of running from a fight. Now, I am also a master medic with Stimpack-D's and a novice creature handler and have Giant Sand Beetles and Dragonets (lvl 30 and 29) to back me up. I have been taking on Matriarch Bantha's (3k xp), bull bantha's (2k) and Mountain Worrts (1.5k xp). I bleed them, blind them and according to my ham bars, try to intimidate them and Melee1hHit2 them. Again, I have high quality stimpacks, so all I worry about is my mind. It has been a grind, but I am having fun with it.

I was a pistoleer, but a holo sent me this route. Enjoy the tree--it can be a lot of fun.

The curved sword (should be around 75-170 at 2.3 speed)will serve you well up to Advanced Footwork (the first skill to get for a Fencer IMO). When you hit Advanced Footwork, switch to a Gaderiffi Baton (around 130-220 at 3.5 speed usually) and hope for a damage slice .

This ugly stick is at the moment the best weapon a fencer can get against mobs.. in PvP you might consider a vibro or a stun baton, but that's very situational.

Personally I use a VibroBlade has light AP 2.0 speed but keep gaffi in inventory if need a strong attack and a curved (1.8 speed) if need fast attack

With Master Footwork there is no significant difference (if any) in swing rates between a Gaderiffi or any faster weapon, but it has a huge damage advantage over the other weapons. Light AP won't help you much against non-armored targets.. and I don't think there are too many mobs with light armor a novice Fencer would level on.

Master Doctor First.

Then play as a fencer. You will NOT regret it. Being able to buff yourself, your friends, a hunting group aid alot in getting you to get exp really fast.

Isn't it better to use a stun baton ? almost no creatures have stun resistance.

I'm not a math wiz, but I would guesstimate, that Stun Baton starts to catch up with the Gederiffi at about 35-40% kinetic with the Stun Baton haveing a slightly better accuracy. But the Stun has pretty high mind-costs and with mind buffs somewhat hard to come by, I'd still suggest to use a Gaffi. Targets with armor rating are another story entirely.

hope that helps.
