After I learned footwork 5 I got my first gaffi baton. (Actually I got and sliced several, using the one that got the big damage slice).

I knew it would be good because the speed cap would be a serious issue with +80 speed.

But what I forgot is that I really like to run around doctor buffed if I can. And with health/action buffs, the mind costs of the gaffi become nearly trivial.

I also forgot that drinking a single tatooine sunburn doesa pretty good job of reducing the gaffi's ham costs, if buffs aren't available (As a former rifleman, concocting something to reduce mind costs is a lot tougher).

And I even forgot that the larger damage per hit of the gaffi means you can lay down some pretty good bleeds.

Plus, throw in that with the december patch, many more npc's and creatures are only AR0 now.

Sure, I still keep a butterknife and a pimp cane, but the gaffi is my new bestest friend.

Get some powerups to alleviate the HAM costs, -33% health and +16% max is what I use and they help out greatly.

Im a master doc and have my mind at 1100/750/750 and my health/action at 600/400/400. I can buff myself and my mind goes down about 6 points per special but regens before I even notice its gone. The gaffi is a marvelous weapon (Im only novice fencer and I already love it). Im thinking I should put a speed power up on it though to make up for the lack of speed mods Im currently at lol.

I'm twilek female, maxed my mind stats to 1100 500 500, I got lucky, I found a gaffi with minor ham costs and same damage as normal, max damage experimented gaffis, I'm looking for another one tho, for the time my old one will be broken... a normal fencer weapon is a pain to use for me... but I DO LOVE that profession, no way Imma drop it EVER.

I think we're gonna be even more powerfull once the defense stacks will be removed.
