Thread: Retraining, becoming a fencer..my plan..looking for suggestions
Hello. I have decided to train in Fencer. Currently I am a Pistoleer / CH / Medic, but I wanted to become a bit more PvP oriented and CH is going to suck with the upcoming nerf on CH and vehicles. I have read through the boards and have come up with the plan listed below. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions regarding this, especially the items I discuss below the plan.
Brawler: Master
Fencer: Master
Pistoleer: 4/0/4/0
Marksman: Pistol line only (0/4/0/0 I believe)
Medic: 2/3/0/0
Scout: 1/0/0/0
Brawler: Seems from what I read the specials gained from Master Brawler are very valuable for a fencer.
Pistoleer: The 1st tree gives you the dodge modifiers that stack with fencer. The third tree is so I can have some decent special with my pistol incase my apponent is running away from me.
Medic: Two boxes in the 1st tree to allow for 1st aid. 3 boxes in the second for decent speeds on heals. Can use stim B's.
Scout: Like to be able to call a camp to heal wounds when I'm out in the middle of no where as well as the terrian negotiation. However I am hesitent here as I feel it may be a waste of skill points.
Does this look good or am I spending points somewhere I shouldnt be? Should I free up points and train in the meditation line in TKA? I would appreciate any advice (minus flames :smileywink
, thank you.
Also, when I 1st was thinking of becoming a Fencer, I was thinking of going Master Fencer / Master Doctor which left little room to do anything else. After reading this board it looked like I would be missing out on allot of complementry skills to Fencer if I did that. Does that sound correct?
well:
medic 2-3-0-0 will allow you to use stim b's only which is fine but if you want to pvp I would suggest going 2-0-3-0 will give you c's and allow you to heal a full health bar buffed.
For now you will be like every other PvPer out ther stacking the dodge bonus /shrug that is up to you it is effective however it IS going to be nerfed so dont complain later down the line.
As for CH going to suck? Wow people are truely not optimistic about this great change they are getting. The will have access to EVERY status effect in game + the most leathal combo's
Dizzy+Posture Change Disease Poison Blind
There is a combo of pets out there right now with the changes that one pet dizzy one pet posture change and the second pet also has poison, with a pretty darn good attack as well. That spells bad news for those who are not prepared and im telling you now you will wish you had your 0-0-0-4 line in marksman to help keep the pets off
Thanks for the input Fury.
As far as 2-3-0-0 vs 2-0-3-0, I have seen lots of debates on this. Good stim B's can heal over half a HAM bar, plus having the 2-3-0-0..you can heal twice as fast, so it seems a bit more effective to me.
Dodge is going to be nerfed? Is this Dev confirmed or just what people think is going to happen. Either way, I already have the pistol skills so it wont be a big deal if I have to drop them later.
As far as CH. Ya, I really didnt want to make this thread about CH, so I will just say I am board in the game and retraining is what is keeping it fun for me. So CH is going.
As far as marksman, the 4th line was something I wasnt sure about giving up. Perhaps I will drop scout, keep that line in marksman and through a few more points in medic.
Thanks again for the input.
I am a master doc/ fencer 2212 and entertainer 0044. My entertainer xp will go down as my fencer goes up and I probably should have mastered Dancer before I started on Doc cause the xp would have been easy from where I was. The Doc buffs are great for PvE and I wont do PVP until i am more into fencer with a defense a bit higher. My HAM is like 500/600/1100 with max on focus and willpower. I can buff myself from 1200-1900 and sometimes higher in the physical stats and with a master dancers mind buff of 1100, none of my combat stats are below 2k each. I hunt with a buffed cowardly gurreck and he gets to tank banthas for me and i bleed them and then dizzy/KD the tuskens. Go back and kill the banthas and then finish off the downed tuskens. All while I am healing my pet with Stim E's. This works every time for me and I can work big red spawns with nothing but a level 15 buffedpet. Against commandos use a stun baton and watch it go right through their composite armor. With mind that high I can wear my comp helmet and the BH eye shot is taken away also. Now if I can master Fencer I may be willing to go to a battlefield and try it PvP but not yet anyways.

youll never hit with the pistol the way your plan is set up now. if ur using pistoller as only stacks for fencer then your selling yourself and your versitlity short...
Any suggestions on where to place the points instead? I also noticed that the 3rd tree in pistoleer gives you more anti dizzy, anti knock down, and anti position change. I already have these tree's in pistoleer so perhaps I will try it out and then drop it if it seems like a waste.
You're spending alot of points for the pistol skills. I would think 4 0 0 4 TKA + medic skills would be a better investment.

One more thing, if I was going to spend points for pistol skills I would definitely pick up thefeign deathskill in the smuggler profession. Using bleeds and FD you can solo just about anything in the game. You aren't going to win any styles point with that method (and some consider it cheap) but it's effective. Also, it's hard to argue with having your own personal 'get out of jail free' card.
