was fighting an imperial surface marshall today and i dizzied him and then used the one-handed lunge. well i got him to his knees but he was able to stand back up again without falling on his back.

yep, dizzy+lunge1 do work against surface marshals, however, it would be harder for him to fall compared to lower lvl npc mobs.

i think they have better resists at higher levels. Its always possible, just less likely. I have had guys that have gotten up from knockdown, but then a subsequent lunge kept em down from dizzy.

Just like with any npc or pc there is always the slight chance of an immediate recovery. Try it more.

i've had low level NPCs stand up without falling. that's what happens when you have a random number in the equation.

Hi,

I did a small test yesterday. I went off and killed some some members of Mountain Singing Clan. I killed a few huntresses and dragoons. I had really hard time getting dizzy to stick, but I could lunge at them. So they get up and continue their thing. Very naughty ... So Ipersuadedthem to goto the next world with my trusty vibroblade.

Huntresses will go meleejust for us so we can make meat shavingout of them. But Dragoons will try to kite you. Very inconsiderate of them. So very naughty ... so I had to persuade them to join their sisters in the next world with venerable double bleeding with my gaffi. (Technically, I had to hit two times and let bleeds deal with them.)

P.S. Don't do Dragoons without buffs.

you should see how cranky they get when you ask them to do a Sy Snootles number. you'd think you'd have asked them to kiss a wookiee. quite cranky indeed.

i mean come on. they're the *singing* mountain clan. refusing requests would be like an imperial refusing to subjugate an entire race because they're not human. sheesh.

Did the dizzy stick? Even if you hit, you're not guaranteed to get them dizzy. I'm not sure if "i dizzied him" meant that the dizzy state icon was showing on him, or if you just meant you hit him with dizzy1.

But yeah, it looks like the tougher the npc the better they are at keeping their balance. And it's more likely that they won't stay on their back once the dizzy wears off.

And while we're on the subject, is dizzy any use against creatures? I know they don't fall over with a posture change, but does it reduce their hit modifier or anything?

Yeah ...

SingingMountain Clan ppltold me they don't like me very much ... soI told them tostay inthe Next World so you don't have to see me often. ... I think it's because I look very good even when I am fighting. They are jealous. ... I mean look at the dress and the make up. ... YUCK!

you could always offer to take them to the Corellia Megamall and get them fixed up. a nice sweater and some lycra pants would work wonders for them.

FWIW I've dizzy + lunged Tuskan Warlords and KDed 'em pretty consistantly. Actually, a lot of the Tuskans that were WAY over my level in the Tustan base got knocked down. Only thing other than friends that kept me from getting eaten.... not surface Marshalls, but still high level.
