I was wondering something, while having SWG on my mind at work, why is it the 2 most damaging professions have attacks against Mind pool? Rifleman have their own version of balances to make up for this, but Hvy Swordsman... I don't think they do. I also thought to myself, "Self... why don't Fencers have attacks vs the Mind pool? Fencing for the most part is about finesse and presicion strikes. I am sure it is alot easier to hit someone's head with a vibro-blade than a 30lb Sledgehammer!" So I thought I would pose this thought. It is NOT a "Nerf them!" post, just curious thought. Perhaps something could change, we do the least damage after all (though again not complaining). Ah well, on to my tale:

My fellow members of Scourge decided we were going to hit the Imperial Base on Naboo. We get there and the 6 of us start wasting imps. That is when I noticed there was a blue dot coming towards us. Before I knew it he, Xiph (Imperial Master Hvy. Swordsman), starts tearing into my group of inexperienced PvPers. He does a great deal of damage, but we take him down. Someone DB'd him which was sad, as we could have poisoned or diseased him to make his return longer in the coming. Oh well.

Deeper we go until we came to the room in that has about 10 ST's and 2-3 Imps. We go in with blaster muzzles flashing and my Rykk a'slashin. Unfortunatelly I couldn't get the attention of all the imps before the rest of the party went down, buy I finished off the room. Woohoo! As soon as I finished looting, Xiph was back. I thought he was waiting patiently for me to collect my reward, but no... he forgot to declare. Off he goes, and I start resting up my mind.

He came back and I stood up. He saluted and said, "Let's make this quick!". We tear into each other, I had the bad luck of not getting my warcry or dizzy to stick... grrr. He beat me in 2 hits, though he swung about 15 times. Anyway, that is when I noticed that he is buffed and wearing Composite... DOH! Guess who forgot to use his stun baton? I blame inexperience and excitement of battle for that mistake. Too bad for me, I was unbuffed and wearing my really old 25% / 15% Ubese (letting a friend use my good set) and he was buffed to boot. It was STILL a great fight and the better fighter won. I applaud Xiph for his honor in allowing me time to turn on CoB.

We came back later and didn't want to waste the 4Km trip, so we intitiated our demise with all the honor that a surprise attack by Coverts can be... too bad the commando was first one to go down, we may have done ALOT more damage to them. Anyway, it is almost lunch time, so I will be off to read more forum posts!

Hey,

Must agree. I have used a sledge before. It's really hard to hit a peg with it. It's a part of reason why we don't use sledge to drive a pole. Instead, we use a metalic cup with two handles at a side. It weighs like sledge, but the cup guides the weight straight down on the pole. ... Compared to that, I would rather use a knife to hit neck up.

But it had better be Master Level skill though and should do bodyhit2-like damage. It would be uncompromisingly unfair. We will be like a BH with extremely high defense.

I agree with reduced damage on it. Heck, Bodyhit1 damage would suffice.

actually fencer can hit mind fairly often.action too. Most fencers forget about a nice little set of moves known as scatter hit 1 and scatter hit 2. Any enemy low in action or mind these will subdue. Sure their not perfect but they make do. As a fencer you shouldnt forget scatter hit 1 or scatter hit 2.

I do use Scatterhits when applicable... usually for my deathblow, as it is my favorite animation. But I was referring to having the ability to attack exclusively the Mind. But you do bring up a good point. Scatter**edit**s do seem to me neglected often.
