Great now the fencer profession just got harder because of more ham for dual wield and new swords.

ugh, flame me all you want, but I'm really upset with how the community handled this vote. Instead of dealing with real issues that needed to be dealt with, the majority of the voters wanted to see their idealistic fencer come into fruition magically, all the while ignoring that currently, fencer is already pretty d4mn cool.


I mean, I want swords (instead of sticks) even more than the next guy, but the more probable settlement would be to make the AP1 gaffi drop from the new tuskens a craftable item, since it is already in the game. I would much rather have another ugly whacking stick if it were available in the near future, as opposed to the time it'd take them to create a brand new weapon and do the balancings on it.


And of course, the dual-wielding. This is a feature we all want, but only a few realize that it would be difficult to properly implement. It'd be an awesome addition, but again, it would be a MUCH wiser decision to fix the broken things that we have already, instead of adding to our problems with further balance issues.

Just a comment to anyone who disagrees with the results of the poll,


If you disagree, and feel that the community missed a priority, then state which one you personally thought was more important and why. I see no reason we can not still discuss these points, and possibly alter the poll or conduct a new one after a week of discussing the points again.


I must say while duel wielding would be cool to request and push for, the HAM rebalance and Spin Attack2 - Blind 2 to me are the current two (and in my opinion only) negative things in the profession. The HAM cost for specials severely limits fencers to using specials with out the aid of buffs/food/spice. While currently you can work around this, it really lacks enjoyment to PvE while fully buffed as you will never lose. The HAM balance would give variety and bring us more in line to say pistoleers who are heavy in action (but that can eb dealt with by stat migration). Thus rebalanceing us to lower the HAM costs cross the board or make them similar to pistoleers (relying mostly on action) to me should be a priority.


The Spin Attack2, and blind 2 are more or less the same special. We invest points and experience to gain them, but then use only one of them. Changing Spin Attack 2 to an AOE posture down special ties into our AOE dizzy. This change provides us with a useful tool to properly tank a group while grouping, as well as give as an opportunity to escape in Mob situations.


If it is the will of the community to keep teh current list, then so be it and I will raise no further objection as I feel we currently are one of the few good professions. Cheers all,

I agree with the poll for the most part; and of course the community has spoken on the issue and it's probably settled as far as Chaser is concerned.


But I really think we're shooting ourselves in the foot by asking for more AP on our weapons. AP is for Pikemen and Swordsmen. I'd like us to have a larger selection of AP 1 weapons to be sure but AP 2 and 3 are really not meant for us.


I can almost guarantee the devs will ignore our request for higher AP weapons. What we should be asking for is more damage types, similar to if not exceedingthe variety that pistoleers enjoy. I forget which dev said that we are the "pistoleers of melee" but it has been said.


I'd switch the position of AP and Damage Types on the list if it was up to me.

let me clear something up, ive no intentions of asking for AP2 or 3.

I think that an AoE posture down is overkill IMO...we would get nerfed and flamed to death in the game because in pvp, we would just stroll up to some overts, dizzy2/spin2 bam there all flopping on the ground. While that does sound VERY cool, I think this should be given to the Pikeman class. I think we should change spin2 or hit3 to a stun...hit3 blinds too right?

I believe that we miss a priority when we ask for dual weild. As far as I understand, they are already planning it. If so, then we gain nothing by putting it into our top five.

We did list practical, and fixable, problems a bit lower. For instance, XP from terminals (which affects everyone who runs missions), and the Spin2-Blind2 duplication. These would be easier to fix, get less argument, and require less recoding. They can also get by the "combat rebalance."

I am glad that the AP problem is up there, along with swords and speed. However, those are trickier problems to fix with the combat balance in hiatus.
