How high does it have to be to be effective? I'm thinking of maybe dabbling in swords & carbinesto get the max def vs initimidate available (65), but is that enough for it to start getting hard to initimidate me, or is it not worth my time?

All I can say is, if your a Fencer, intimidate is a MAJOR drawback in PVP. I was in a duel with a swordsman, and once he intimidated me, we were at a stand-still because he couldn't hit me, but whenever i hit him, the damage dealt was so small-after armor resists and all that- that he would regen it. But when the intimidate did go away, I was able to beat him
So yeah, it could be worth your time. But intimidating back is also good.

Master Doc is the only way to 100% avoid it. You would need about +90 defense vs. intimidate to truly make it difficult to apply. Anything less is just a chance you won't get it. If it's that heavy of a concern, get Doc.

Intimidate lowers defenses, both melee/ranged and secondary (dodge) but does not negate them totally.

Err..I didnt say I dodged the intimidate lol. What I MEANT was that when I was intimidated, I could hardly do any REAL damage, so we were at a standstill.

I asked , did you dodge, while intimidated. (Dodge is fencers secondary defense, btw)
