So I got into a little conversation with a masterRifleman/tka. I beat him using Lunge2 (masterBrawler) and dizzy. He's lying on the ground and I pound him with scatterhit2 until incapp. He tells me this is an exploit. Am I exploiting?! I had no clue!

Wow, I'm not a big trash talker, but I'd have heckled that guy pretty bad. You used the skills provided you in the game by design and beat him. There's a lot of talk from folks in my other profession, well all ranged profs really(I have been and always will be a riflemen), that using dizzy/kd is a cheap way to win. Most just say to buck up and deal with being the biggest dealer of damage in the game, but there are whiners that feel there should be an ever-available instant "I-win" button-usually the FOTM riflemen that will move on as soon as they adjust damage and theunhealable mind pool. Tell him to get some dizzy food? Or some kd food? Or to learn how to kite better? Or to remember to wear armor? Or to not spam "stand" over and over? Sounds like the guy was a loser, but you surely aren't an exploiter.

Some people say that spamming specials is an exploit, its cheating, its not fair play. I say using you best or even favorite special in the game is fair. If I only had one special what else would I use. Sure I may have 8 or 9 but I choose to use this one cause it works best. There is nothing wrong with that.

It's usually better to kneel first then pause then stand. It's more of an equilibrium thing: when you're dizzy and you fall over, you gotta get up slowly.

Why would spamming a special be cheating? Do they want us to just use the default attack and only use specials once in a while?

Your method is the best if you have the ability to heal state. Set it up as a macro so that it happens instantly before you fall back down from the dizzy - you will be up on the second stand attempt every time.

If you don't have the ability to heal state, you flop around like a fish if you try to stand up too quickly. The best method is to try standing about once per second - no more. You get a random roll on whether you'll beat the dizzy and be able to stand up each time you hit stand. You should be able to get up about 1 in 2 or 3 attempts. If you hammer the stand button, you immediately fall back down causing a re-roll of your chances to stand without getting to find out the outcome of your first roll....over and over and over. I can do this on purpose when dueling friends just to be funny. Slam stand as fast as I can and you hear a funny falling sound repeat over and over and over and I wriggle around like a fish, never successfully standing.

Best method to get up from dizzy/kd (unless you can cure state) is to press stand ONCE. If you spam it, you'll just fall right back down. Each posture command is a chance to fall over when dizzy. Even if you're standing and you press stand, you've hit the command and can fall over. (lame imo but for now that's how it works).

Bloody well said, aside from the fact that the word is "moot" not "mute." Mute means silent.

Quoted from Dictionary.com, "The adjective moot is originally a legal term going back to the mid-16th century. It derives from the noun moot, in its sense of a hypothetical case argued as an exercise by law students. Consequently, a moot question is one that is arguable or open to debate. But in the mid-19th century people also began to look at the hypothetical side of moot as its essential meaning, and they started to use the word to mean “of no significance or relevance.” Thus, a moot point, however debatable, is one that has no practical value."

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi, but abuse of the word "moot" drives me nuts.

But, that single word aside, I'm inclined to agree. You attacked using moves that are essential to your profession. Next time you duel your TKM/Rifleman buddy, ask him not to use StrafeShot, UnarmedHit3, or any state effects. See how he reacts.
