Thread: what to do with rancor teeth

I have some 117 max dmg rancor teeth and not sure what to do with em. What u guys think i should do?

They can go into Curved Swords or Rykk Blades for 1 handed. Rykk blades do more damage.

Multiple questions:
Where do u loot these teeth? directly on rancors?
And is it rare to get some in looting? How much is it sold?

They come directly off rancors and are pretty rare for their crappiness. They can be used to make any sword 1 handed or 2handed they take the place of the sword core. But they have very high ham cost and make the sword have a high damage range making it pretty much useless in pvp.

I've seen swords made with rancor teeth that are an economical backup to scythes, so I went ahead and purchased a set of three 5-50 1.0 speed teeth. What should I have made from these? I'm thinking of having a cleaver and a curved sword made. Does the executioner's hack use sword cores and would it be worth my time to get a schem to use these teeth in or am i better off saving the teeth for regular weapons?

The Executioners Hack uses the same stuff as a scythe blade, namely geo sword cores, so you couldnt use the teeth init.
The teeth are not bad, except that since the min damage on them is so low, its makes the average damage number lower than if you actually used an advanced sword core that was 41/41.
But for a couple of grinding swords, they should work just fine.

I hate to say it, but imo, the best thing to do with those teeth is to find the Rancor they were pulled out of and try to give them back to him cuz they aren't very useful in putting into a sword. Let's look at the numbers. My adv sword core is in the 41/41 -0.4 range (I think, wish I had one in front of me) and my swords come out around 2.6 260max damage(again, I think). Now if I was to replace one of my cores with a 5/50/1.0 rancor tooth, my new weapon would be in the 4.0 speed range and the max damage would be around 269-271. I don't know about you, but an additional 9 points of max damage (and the min damage would be alot lower too) is not worth the additional 1+ second to the speed of the weapon.
