I noticed it was mentioned in an interview recently that pistoleers and fencers will be getting dual wield.

I've looked throught the forums, but I can't find any ETA on when the dual wield ability might actually show up. Is it several publishes off?

The devs tell you when they will put something in the game? You should consider yourself lucky that they even let you POST.

Well, duel wield might take a bit longer then what they are gonna tell us. If you think about it, if they lower the cap for fencers an pistoleers in speed by half down to .5 thats gonna incress our dps a bit. Considering pistoleers have FAR better weapons then we do, an a pistoleer dabbling into BH line skills is gonna make them pretty sick, even as a smuggler to. That incresses thier effectivenss FAR more then it would us since they got very high end damage skills.

Now considering fencers cap will be lowerd an they will be given duel wield, thier damage is kinda low end with the current weapons in system, still there weapons are very effective given the right situtations. As above, this would put fencers in a postion of being slightly over powerd compared to the other classes, since a second weapon with out some form of acutal hard cap above point .5 would cuase us to use 2x ham, along with fact we be dishing out insain amounts of lower damage then before.

Honestly I am all for having duel wield, but there is alot of problems with the combat factors involved with having such a skill. The biggest concern is if we get it, will it be balanced out correctly, so that it makes a differance but doesn't over power us. Or would it hurt us more then it would be of an use? As in it kills us far faster. You gotta take in consideration with the current ham system if this is at all effective. Being buffed an having all your foods an such it wouldn't be much of an issue, would it be to overpowering? Lots of questions even I am skeptical if we will get it or not. Perhaspe they might give us cloaks an an phase-bucklers to counter act out lack of damage for much greater defence.

Egi:
Cloak off hand. +30 vs melee, 15% bonus attack agasit melee +25 to cob effectiveness, +20dodge, +25 cob duration. Armor: Light/None Dur 8000
This item helps confuse melee oppentents into opening themsleves up in melee. As it blinds your attacks from thier view.

Phase-blucker off hand. +30vs ranged, +20% vs ranged attackers, +25 cob effectivenss +15dodge, +25 cob duration 40% vs stun. Armor Light, 1200 dur

This item helps defelect incomming fire, an allows the fencer to engaged ranged oppenets with a bit more effectiveness.

Then again.... Its just some thoughs, caculating out the information is annoying.. But under current ham system duel wield would hurt us in ham ALOT.

Dunno why, but I've never known someone who's a pistoleer to dabble into BH (given the amount of work it requires to get to BH in the first place). It's just hard to think of "dabbling" into BH period what with having to master 2 other whole professions before you get yoru dabble card.

'eh i've known people to dabble alot with BH for just the Carbine or Pistol line and then just go into pistoleer or carbineer for the trees they see desired for PvP or whatever other use they are going for. Yes it takes alot of skill points however you get some pretty impressive weapons at your disposal as well. Though mind you i don't speak from expieriance, just from what i've read.
