If you are PVPing as a straight fencer, then there is no wonder you are getting beat on. Fencers are best when you use their defenses to couple with another class. The Pistoleer defense tree is one.
I woulnd't drop so much as picking up something else as well. TKA, Swordsman or Pikeman. My friend is a Pikeman/Fencer and rarely loses, because of the great knockdowns and bleeds in PIkeman and the super Fencer Defenses. Without Master Fencer/Master Brawler to go along with it, it doesn't do that well against a prepared PVP opponent. You can go to anchorhead and bestine and find some unprepared opponents as well if you want to own with Fener on it's own.
If you don't have Master Brawler with your fencer, then you have gimped yourself in PVP. Lunge 2 and Warcry 2 are staples of your arsenol as a Fencer in PVP (and PVE) I'd pick up Pikeman for PVE (It's really good for it) and for stacking with your PVP and you should be fine.
Plus Pikeman and Fencers get the most dot weapons dropped for them. If you aren't using one in PVP, no matter what class you are you won't do well. Dot's are the only thing doing damage in this age of high stun resist armor for any class, the grass won't be greener on the other side if you drop fencer.
TKA aren't a lot better off against expirenced opponents in PVP either. Swordsman, unless you have a mighty hammer and speed tapes is mainly good for PVE.
I'd say now that scatter hit 2 can't be exploited and stun weapons aren't the end all be all, I'd start hunting for high endnym's motors for the Vibro blade, Dot Weapons, and working on Master Brawler and another Mele class and keep fencer. I'd really recommend keeping Fencer and going for Pikeman if you are looking for a change. Most Pikeman really like it, especially with the defenses you have from Fencer. Nothing is funnier than a group of creatures or NPC's around a pikeman and seeing them swing their pike and knockdown a screen full of people.
Novice Medic, Novice Scout, Master Brawler, 2 other mele profession masters is a templet that will let you do anything in the game. Check it out, but keep fenceruntil you master another and see how it goes.
