Thread: Dodge, Knockdown and other ?issues?

Good morning all. I don't know if this has been said over the weekend (I don't check the forums then, too busy playing and not at work). First, I am only a novice fencer (0 0 0 0) but I have noticed some of our issues seemed to be, at least partially, fixed. First, knockdown (the dizzy/lunge combo). I hate to call it that, because it isn't, but it seems to work as it did before, but with a little less frequency. I can still get it to work about 40-50% of the time, although it used to seem much higher.


Next, Dodge. Now all I have read is that dodge is broke and it dosen't work. Well, after thur/Fri patch it seems to work alot (compared to what it used to). I almost dodge once per fight if I am fighting 3 or more (don't forget I am "only" a novice). My friend next too me plays a marksman and has, I think, pistol 3 and he dodges alot (I see him rolling all the time). My other friend (yes, we have 3 computers at one table, all networked) dosen't have any pistol skill (scout, medic, doctor) and she was asking me this weekend (she's a noob too) "why is my character rolling" which tells me even SHE is dodgeing. Is it fixed? Anyone else notice this?


Also, for everyone, if you had a choice of a class to enhance your fencer abilities would you pick Pistoleer, TKA or Swordsman (2H). What I mean is you're still fencing 100% of the time but which class would you pick for the extra bonuses (like more dodge, melee defence) and why?

I recently started over with a new Pistol user on Bria, for the fun of it. He has NO dodge skill (it's not even listed on his acquired skills list) but still somehow seems to dodge at least one to two shots per battle, and he isn't even up to Pistol IV yet. My 4/4/4/3 fencer, on the other hand, has not dodged once, NOT ONCE, since his conception.


Why are they punishing brawlers? Why??

Well, I did not notice these animations before this weekend unless my character was dodging, but leave it to Sony to add more animations before they actually fix the game, I guess.

If a scout with absolutely no dodge modifier is rolling around on the ground then what you're seeing is most likely not a dodge, just a simple combat animation to spice things up. Much like in a fight if the opponent misses you and you have a melee weapon equiped... their sword doesn't just fly through you but do no damage, you actually reach up and parry the blow away. Its just animations. Look in your combat log to see if you're really dodging. I've been fighting 30 foot tall turtles who dodged more in 2 or 3 fights than I have to 1 box away from master fencert
