I am thinking of getting my Rykk (23-125, 3.4 speed) sliced. Money isn't a problem, but I am concerned what it will do to the weapon. Is it similar to spices? Will it lower it's stats and raise it's HAM over time? Will it be reduced so bad I will only be able top use it for a few more days until ot breaks? Please respond!

It will either increase the speed, or damage of the weapon(master slicers do up to 50% increases), but it will make the weapon decay faster. If you can repair weapons this isnt a problem...that is the only downside that I have found so far...

The downside is that slicing is SUPPOSED to make repairing the weapon impossible... But the Devs have not enabled this for some dumb reason. Because of this, weaponsmiths are suffering. It also lowers the durability of the weapon.

How are weaponsmiths suffering? You know how much money they are making right now? Its mad money, its the best profession in thegame. Weapons cant be repaired fully so they all will need to replaced at some time anyway. Right now everything works just fine. Just look at armorsmiths, armor isnt durrable and falls to pieces after a few days so no one is paying big bucks for it and no one is in a hurry to get it sliced there is no way I think the weaponsmiths want to be put in the same boat as the armorsmiths.

I have had had 4 swords sliced, and have yet to see a down side. Contrary to what metal said none of my swords lost any durability after the slice. The decay rate seemed to go up a little but that can probably be attributed to the increase in my weapon speed.

I read in the smuggler forum thats untrue, itsjust a rumor some slicers started so they get more money slicing, and it does not lower durability, only after it has been repaired.

I get my armor sliced. If it makes its stats higher or encumb lower i'd do it, and it does. I have no problem spending 7k (that i can earn in30 minutes doing missions) on good armor once a month or so.

The down side is trying to find a slicer you can trust. Im a novice fencer, commando0-0-1-1 novice smuggler and medic 2-0-2-0. Gave a reccommended smuggler my launcher pistol that was 3.3speed, after some bumbling he hands it backtelling me i got a20%speed slice. Satisfied i thank the smuggler and go about my buisiness. I walk outside the establishment and look at the stats of my new speedier weapon. 3.1speed?!? Im no math whiz, but i know that is wrong. The lightbulb goes off in my head and i remember him walking out with a launcher pistol equipped. Wish i had noticed when he was still in my log. Cant remeber his name. grumble......

Just FYI. The max slice for a weapon is 35% speed or damage.

Personaly..i'd say, DROP the rantok sword, that is so crap..no offense.

Get a curved sword..all other swords are crap until they learn how to experiment better on them (stun batons preferably)

Get a curved sword dude..mine is 93-212 2.4 speed..tell me that is not 2,000 times better then the Rantok..i do 1.3k damage each time with One Hand Hit 2.
