how are the def mods?

do blades do bleeding by default or is there a move that is learned?

how are the HAM costs as compared to other melee profs?

would you change

thanx....

considering adding fencer to my TKA once i reach TKM and wanted to kno more about the class's def and bleeding

The defense mods, nobody knows for sure if they work or just look pretty.... bleeds are attacks you learn on your footwork line... your attacks dont cost tons of ham, BUT, since you dont hit hard but do hit fast, you'll be using much more ham in general...


Would I switch? No.. already invested to much time and I refuse to do it again to get slapped with another nerf

what parts of your def mods are buged?

i saw some posts concerning the dodge abilities but my interests lie more with the general ranged and melee def

But thats the thing... nobody knows for sure what mod works and what mods dont. Melee and ranged defense are for making you harder to hit in general, not absorbing damage. I THINK those work... but dont quote me on it...

Recently it seems everything has gotten to me so dont take it personally if I seem a bit... err.. blunt


The damage output has always been low, but thats supposedly offset by our speed. The only catch is that a 2 handed swordsman can swing every bit as fast as us but hit atleast 2x harder. I'm not certain, but I've heard that even polearms can reach our speed cap, and you know for sure they hit just a bit harder than our butterknife of death.


All of our moves are knockoffs of themselves. We get a one handed blind... an AE blind.. and a spin attack that blinds... if you can make ANY sense out of that, let me know. Our dizzy used to be our saving grace when it came to humanoids (not creatures, dizzies never worked on them) but after this recent patch, dizzy wears off about 1/2 second after they stand back up from the lunge. We also get an AE dizzy which I'm assuming is still worthless, I haven't checked for sure though, but it woulnd't suprise me. We do get a bleed attack which is nice.. but if thats all your interested in you're better off going with pistols so you can bleed from a range and kite them to death.

i am currently gunna drop marksman b/c it takes up 15+ skill points and i really dont use it that much

getting pistoleer will take even more

fencer is the closest thing i can get to bleed

i head that 2H and pole had big dam but low accuracy...

Not sure what you mean by working, but I went against a Teras Kasi Master and HE could not knock me down, don;t know if that is jsut his move or my knockdown defense that kicked in. The best way to know if they work is with teh Dizzy Defense, fight another fencer and have him/her try the lunge/dizzy and see if it has any effect on you. I am about 10k of xp away and I will know for sure.

The best polearms (LVA) have horrific accuracy until you hit Master Pikemen, whereupon they come very usuable. Swordsmen have problems using the Power Hammer, but it's still doable. If you're looking for pure damage outpot, right now you want to go with them.


As for what I like about Fencers? Class and style. Well, and it fits with my character.

I have no problems with damage nor speed, i do 1.3k damage with One-Hand Hit 2 and my speed is 2.3..so needless to say i swing rather fast.


And i agree..it suits my character, Fencer is a respectable class and very fun/original..don't see very many, and that's what makes it so great for me. (that and the very cool animations for fencer attacks..)
