While killing off the Cor Sec troopers and meatlumps in my spare time I noticed a strange thing occuring.
I'm simply an apprentice Swordsman so my attacks usally consist of: One hand lunge 1 and then One hand dizzy 1 with just a plain old sword.
Usually takes a bit to kill the troopers but yesterday and today every once in a while the poor old trooper or meatlump would fall on his back as if he were knocked out and would not get back up or defend himself etc.
I of course put the poor fellows out of their misery but this has never happened before for me and nothing is noted on my combat screen.
Am I just a total newb or is this something new?
Thanks,
Luce

one hand lunge is a posture changing move. ie: makes them kneel/prone.
dizzy makes you fall down when you try to stand.
lunge + dizzy = NPC can't stand up.

Keep in mind that this is a great way to kill NPCs who use rifles. You get them to fall on their back, and then use your big hit attacks, they will do huge damage. (I've hit for 6k on a stormtrooper with 1h body hit 3)

Dizzy first lunge after. When you dizzy first and lunge after they posture change TWICE, giving them twice the chance to keel over. Most ive done is 3300 dmg with 1hbodyhit2.

also, when animals start to run, try to lunge and get them to change position it will stop them. I HATE! running creatures, so I spam lunge when they try to run.

yeah they do, most animals you cant tell, but look at thier little icon next to thier name (in the top right corner) and if you do get them to change they pop back up in a second... But the dizzy+lunge thing that never works on creatures, at least not for me.they get back up right away.

well, a fairly big creature (on dathomir) fell down today when i used this combo, but he only stayed down for about 5 seconds.and, if your one-hand lunge does not work, a message will appear saying something along the lines of "you failed in changing the creature's stance"

since we're on the subject of lunge, i'm gonna share a fun strategy.
i typically hit Naboo and search out some Bolle Bols. then i single one out. either one wanders away from the group, or i walk away until they're off my radar. as i approach, i wait till only one is on my radar, and give it a few seconds. if the others don't pop on my radar, they generally won't aggro.
after that i take a single shot with a pistol, then switch to my fencing weapon. as he charges, i stand there and wait. when he approaches, i lay on a Shiim Shiak (healthhit2) and a Shiim (healthhit1). then i use Lunge Stab, and start running. i can generally keep out of his reach for two ticks. then i can lunge again. so that's when i take him head on, and do all kinds of body hits. if i start getting dangerously low, i either heal or lunge again and run.
you don't get as much xp from bleeds, but i can do as many bolle bols in a row as long as nothing goes wrong.
this will of course work with any similar creature.
also, i've taken two bolle bols at once. stack two bleeds on each, lunge each, then take off. i wait for at least three ticks, lunging again if i have to, then spin them into oblivion.
if he had an area effect lunge this would be even easier.
this is a nice way to solo big creatures that move kinda slow for 2500 xp a pop with almost no healing. i group with a pet and just have him stand around for the group xp bonus.
don't know if that would work for anyone else, but i thought i might throw it out there.

creatures with 4 legs have a huge defense versus dizzy and posture change. Some are worth lunging (huurtons will stop in their tracks) while others are not worth the time.
