Thread: New Fencer looking for a little bit of advice
Hey, I've dropped 0/4/4/4 BH to pursue fencing // doctor. It's a tough profession, and I'm hoping to further dominate in PvP with it. I just need a little advice on weapon choice. I'm currently using 2.6 / 175 damage vibroblade. Is there even a reason to use rykk blade cuz its ap0? What about rantok sword? If anyone could help me with some info on the weapons I would appreciate it. Any of you Shadowfire fencers my name is Thidep and my guild and I regularly harass Moenia. That's where you will find me.
ok for one that weapon is a keeper. Two a lot of people will suggest to you get a curved sword for this reason or that. Simply put if you want the highest dmg you can get use a Gaffi. I have one sliced for spd at 126-221 dmg and 2.7 spd, my other is a dmg slice at 170-286 dmg and 3.5 spd of which at master fencer will still hit spd cap using any special we have.
Doc is a great rout for this class and any melee in particular since we seem to kill ourselves on a regular basis if we want good dmg. With a doc as a secondary class I only ever spend mind for my moves and that is almost exclusive to onehandhit2 atm.... costs me 35 mind per swing. So once you start to get the b grade buffs start switching some stats to max all 3 mind stats. Once you have health and action d's you should have max mind and can go almost as low as you want in health and action base stats cause d packs boost on average 1500 but range for me 1k-2.2k.
So that you know the 35 mind cost is with max mind stats as a Trandosh at 1000-500-600
The Rantok is for show. Nothng else.
I was gonna go Master Fencer/Master Doctor but I decided against it.
I am a far more capable fighter now than I ever would have been able tobe if I would have stuck with the Doctor skills. I had planned on being able to buff myself thinking I would be an awesome tank. Turns out it didn't work that way. I could only fight a slightly higher level beastie when buffed than I could when I was not buffed and my mind was still my weakness anyway.
Not anymore. :-)
