Thread: Full mind damage on a fencer. How was it done.
Ok, there is a guy on my server (a known scammer, big suprise hes a reb) that is somehow doing 100% mind damage.
He is using Scatter stab, and a stun baton, ok, I got those, I try it, i do part health part mind part action.
Now, i was in full ubese armor w/ a 80% kinetic composite helm
How, The, Hell, did he kill me in 2 hits, (i have 1100 mind) when it SAYS i took 323 dmg (All damage unblocked by any armor) ?
Play on bria and you would understand as a general rule, Anyway.
The damage im not worried abuot, what im after is why he did 100% MIND Damage.
the damage he did, pfft, not worried about that I could care less for taking 400dmg, but what I do want to know is why he did it ALL in mind, multiple times, and it wasnt just me, he killed probaly 30-35 more people the same way, scatter hit doing full mind.
I have done some testing with a friend of mine with and without armor, im not doing any extrodanary ammount of mind damage, sure ocasionally il get some other pools, but by no means mind only, for anything like that..

You wanna leave the faction crap out of this forum please?
It has no place here what so ever.

everyone complains about how their server is filled with imps or rebs or whatnot, please...if you think your always right and the opposing faction is always out to exploit glitchesusing any means necesary to take advantage of you, guess what? your wrong
for example, there is a guild on my server that uses a large block turret with an item inside it so that it keeps firing even when its HAM is brought to 0, dont ask me how it works, i dont know, its an exploit...but no one complains because the fact is there are exploits in the game and you just have to deal with them until they are fixed
as for this fencer he got very lucky and to my knowledge there is no player controlled exploit to use scatter hit with a stun baton to deal damage to only mind, also take into consideration that fencers are very fast and stun batons really do "stun" you so he may have appeared to do a lot of damage when he was really just faster than you, since you were stunned
As for this fencer doing 100% mind damage. It's simply lucky, you might just be a little frustrated and could possibly be bending the truth a little bit, but I'll take your word for it.
Are you positive he was using scatter hit? Are you sure it wasn't one hand hit 3? Because that is more likely to target only one pool as opposed to scatter hit...
It's luck is all it is...it's like, if you're warcry never lands or you miss every shot, that's bad luck, but its the same type of thing...
I see enough people buffed, plus neutron pixie, plus a flameout drink that their health and action are so high that any damage to those pools doesn't register visually.
I'm not saying this is exactly your case, Vince, but If you have 5000 health, 4000 action and 1100 mind and someone spams you with scatter hit, you may have been damaged pretty heavily in the health and action pools without knowing it, but it's the unbuffed mind pool that seems to go down to the whitefirst.
Did you actually see only blue (mind) numbers above your head registering the damage? My point here is that all pools might be taking a lot of damage, but the mind damage was theonly damage that was apparent.
But even if the full damage of a scatter hit all went to mind-- the kind of damage you are describingdoes seem rather high. Even assuming you were knocked down, with no stun protection, and maybe even +25 one-handed damage in skill modifiers, it still seems high. Against a buffed opponent in PvP, even a 275 max damage gaffi stick, using Cho Mok, seems to take a lot more than two or three hits to finish the job.
So, maybe there is the suggestion of a bug. Did your armor have a stun layer? Once a stun layer enters the picture, then the damage should be reduced even further by the fact that you'retalking about a light armor piece versus an AP 0 weapon. But I have heard people say that the stun layer isn't working the way it should.
You mentioned that you ran a test. I would suggest you run a test with two helmets-- one with stun protection, and one without. The actual stats of the helmets should not matter-- if the helmet with stun protection actually causes you to take more damage, then there is probably something wrong in the way the game is calculating the damage.
