Thread: Got a few questions...
Stuntmansteve wrote:I got a few questions...1) Why is it that even at master fencer, everything can hit me? I became fencer in the first place because my friend told me that a master fencer could last a pretty long time againest a krayt because of it's dodge, but just a while ago I was tanking some tattered tortons, unbuffed and no armor, for a friend and after a while I had to slap on some armor because they were doing to much damage to me. While later I took off the armor and started to just slap on a blind and an intimidate but doing that usually did more damage to me then the torton. If even a tattered torton can hit me then what chance do I got againest a krayt? Does CoB really make that much of a difference? Or was my friend just full of it and the only prof that can solo a krayt is swordman?2) Now that im master, what am I capable of? The other day, while at the ro on rori, I cought a rifleman killing some npcs so I decided to teach him a lesson by going overt and killing him. Killed him of course, but we were both unbuffed and had no armor on. I've heard stories of master fencers taking on 3 people, only buffed, with ease. Is that true? And would an acklay stun baton be good in pvp?3) Im only master commando and master fencer, but I was thinking of going down to the geo cave and getting myself some acklay bones so then I could get my master ws friend to make me either a nice stun baton of gaffi stick. Would I stand a chance againest an acklay? Or would it waste me in a heart beat? And how rare is it for an acklay to drop acklay bones?4) If I wanted to use my flamer in pvp for some reason, would the dodge from fencer still be in effect? And is the only way to truely be good in pvp is too have master brawler as well for the intimidate, warcry, and one-handed lunge 2 and a good acklay wep?5) Is there really any point in being fencer, for pvp purposes, unless your rich? The only way I can see any fencer being really good in PvP is by having a good acklay stun baton or gaffi stick, which could cost millions upon millions of credits.6) What things could I solo as master fencer, fully buffed, and pve comp on? I usually only got 10k tops in the bank, except when one of my rich buds gets me to fetch him a quest item for a couple 100k, so I really need to find something that I could possibly solo that drops something that would be worth alot so then I could buy some acklay bones or an acklay wep.Well thats all for nowThanks in advance
Yes, you should be looking for either Acklay Bones or an Acklay Stun Baton for PvP...And about getting hit even ppl with +125 Dodge +125 Melee Defense are still gonna get hit by a Krayt It does not matter and Swordsman are not the only people who can Solo Krayts...Swordsman are the ones who can kill the Krayt the fastest just because the have more Damage Output
The krayt killing template seems to be master swords/ master doctor.

- Have you tried using Center of Being? It increases the potency of your Defenses... Also, be aware that Intimidate removes your dodge function altogether.
- Fencer is more of a Defensive role... They are NOT damage dealers, they are technically tanks but cannot dish out the damage in PvE, However, Fencers are great in Group or Solo PvP, Provided you know exactly what your doing and who to attack first. Acklay Batons are over-rated... You will need more out of a baton in which the MINIMUM DAMAGE and MAXIMUM DAMAGE are as close as possible as it is the MINIMUM Damage that breaks through any Melee Mitigation an opponent may have. High Damage Batons is only useful against ranged individuals because as they do not have any melee mitigation.
- Take a support friend with you... Or pick up some Medic. Commando/Fencer isn't a great PVE template but if you really enjoy it and aren't killed all the time, by all means. You can't really solo the Acklay unless you have Swordsman or Doctor in your builds.
- No the Dodge would not be prevalent when using a Commando certified weapon... It only helps when you're wielding a fencer type of weapon. The only exception to this rule is the Pistol tree for dodge... Since they are similar types of Defenses you can wield a pistol and still use the dodge you have from Fencer.
- It takes a good 10 million to become a "set" fencer... Be willing to drop tons of cash on batons/gaffis and Synsteak... Remember FOODS ARE YOUR FRIENDS.
- Forget about Nightsisters or Singing Mountain Clan, they all have Kinetic and Stun Resistances. I recommend Tuskens or Stormtroopers.
Hope this helps... If you have anymore questions, I wrote a guide to Fencer and the link is in my Signature.

ok, i agree with a few of thesem but the rest im going to have to correct
1. agree
2. disagree. fencer by itself is a great PvE proffesion, you just need to know how to use it. my acklay stun baton is only 177-222 damage and i still get a bunch of damage out of it, but for PvE, you should look for a gaffi stick, preferrably one that does somewhere near 100-200 damage and 2.0-2.6 speed, which commonly arent too expencive and will last you a long while.
3. get novice medic definitly, and always stay buffed when doing something like the geo labs, and be SURE to have brandy and canape on you at all times, it is a life saver. and if you know how to use it, and have a good template to go with it you can solo the acklay with a stun baton easy, i know, ive never killed the acklay with something other than fencer.
4. agree
5.ive spent about 1.5 mil in my entire fencer career, and 1.1 million of that was for my stun baton. and ive never used synthesteak, i hear it can be useful, but above all stick with brandy and canape
6. not true. last night i went and killed about 20 NS stalkers and singing mountain clan huntresses with my gaffi stick, the stalkers hav 100% resistance too stun, but whip out your gaffi and teach them who is boss. im not sure about anything higher than a NS stalker, but i know that it is a pretty high level of NS on its own, you might want to check the stats and possibly stick to swordsman when taking elders, though
hope all of this helps you out
> you can solo the acklay with a stun baton easy
With Acklay having AR2 I wouldn't try this myself. Someone would be along to killsteal me in short order. And since his stun and kinetic resists are both 30% I probably wouldn't want the baton even if I did give it a try. /raise you for doing it.

Nightsisters love the high-powered taste of Nym vibroblades.
> you might want to check the stats and possibly stick to swordsman when taking elders
100% kinetic, 100% stun. Tank for a group or avoid.
