Thread: Wait? What swords are faster, stronger, more precise...

I was going to post this in the thread about this topic but i couldn't find it


Anyway I was rechecking the speed mods between fencer and swords and I realized that what I thought about General speed is wrong. Swords get +25 general melee speed the same as Fencer (20 from elite profession 5 from novice brawler). Swords also getsTwo-handedMelee speed +75.OK I thought at least we are more accurate...what, No we aren't. Swords get +85 general and +110, 2-handed accuracy.


So lets lay this out all graph-like



Fencer Mods

Total speed 90 ( 25 + 65 )

Total Accuracy 160( 70 + 90 )

Melee Defense125(85 +40 )


Sword Mods

Total speed 100 ( 75 + 25 )

Total Accuracy 195 ( 85 + 110 )

Melee Defense135 ( 85 +50 )


Swords has us beat on EVERY front, speed, dmg, accuracy, and defense. What is that about? I thought swords was supposed to be big dmg, but lower speed/def/accuracy? While we we're faster and precise but hit for less dmg. I'm not yelling NERF don't lower swords but shouldn't we get a boost?

even with all their mods the SAC on most swordsmans weapons is their bane
hit a swordsman with binding strike and watch their action disappear lol

i agree we should be the fastest and most accurate melee class in the game but /sigh it looks like the devs think otherwise

I wish they'd makebleeds better.


If you notice we're the only melee profession with a snare, and given what they said in the CU documents, it seems like we should be stacking bleeds, whacking the guy in the kneecap, and running around untill their health is wittled away and they're vulnerable and crippled.
