Thread: I can duel a PC DJM to a standstill but in normal PvP I'm not even scratching them

First off I PvP a lot and up till patch 9 never had any issues in PvP. Now I'm doing PvP and I'm not doing any damage and my opponents HAM bars aren't moving. Yet I can go 1vs1 with a PC who has finished his jedi trials and is force ranked and I can go toe to toe and win. THis jsut doesn't make any sense.

I'm assuming that this has to do with the changes to scatterhit 2 can someone plz explain to me exactly waht happen.

I wen from doing like 500-600 damage hits with scatter2 to now doing at most 300-350 damage with scatterhit2.

Also Lunge2 onthe same peopel that it use to KD 75% of the time in 1 or 2 hits now requires 5 to 6 hits to Lunge2 (no the people's templates have not cahnged nor have they gotten any new SEA's)

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this trend or if I'm just off my rocker.

I'd need a "little" bit more info(aka who you fought), but I'm going to take a stab at this anyways...

prior to publish 9, scatterhit(from fencer and carbineer), combo hit(from tk), and fast blast(from bounty hunter) all bypassed the "toughness" of your opponent in PvP..

during the testing of jedi skills, jedi's only "real" defence, is toughness, since saber block does nothing to a melee person...
so they saw thier defences were useless against both fencers and tk's and were like.. "ummmm something's wrong"...

so the moves I listed, were fixed so that they no longer by-pass a person's toughness...
now as far as your numbers are concerned....

I know that toughness acts like a percentage... so I THINK a fencer and swordsman have about 38 or 39 toughness... so your scatterhit would go from 500... to 500-(500*0.39) to equal about 305.... against a tk, who have always had more toughness then any melee profession... the decrease might be even more then that...

if this decrease was happening to you while fighting "ranged" opponents.. then I'm not really sure why that decrease happened.. because I don't think ranged opponents get any toughness...

hope that helped,
chee

well if you insist that they weren't melee.... (I don't know if melee toughness works if armed with a ranged weapon, although I assume it does not)
based on your numbers I have to assume that they are not wearing 40% composite armor... because that wouldn't allow you to get over 300 damage... infact it would probably even be much lower then 300 damage if they had the right armor on..

2 things they could be doing to decrease your damage...
finally wearing a PSG that has stun resistance... OR
using the damage reduction food, steak can decrease damage by over 35% for over 30-40 moves if made well....

(either of those would reduce your damage by 30-40%.... and in truth I'm amazed that your still able to do anything with fencer against someone who has any idea what they're doing....I assume the people your fighting do not use stun composite, a psg, damage reduction food and intimidate because that equals one useless fencer)
