Thread: Best race for a fencer/swordsman?

I know there is technically no "best" race for anything, but what do some of the different races have as advantages over each other? I know wookies get massive HAMs, but no armor. Trandos get the regen. Zabrak get some weird things like equilibirum and vitalize (What do these do?)

What race fencer are you?

Do you wish you were a different race? Why?

What are some good elite professions to compliment a swordsman/fencer other than rifleman/pistoleer?

Thanks in advance.

well equilibirum evens out all your hams, so if one guy is boing nothing but action damage you can raise your action but lose some of health and mind to even it out(good life saver at times). and vitalize will give you an adreniline boost making him/her faster, stronger, and tougher for a short time (good for fighting hard guys). zabracks also get a bonus vs. stun, dizzy, and blind, so these help. also wookies have massive boost to MANY things. i am a zabrack 1h sword spec and he is working out good for me.

I play a Zabrak for my Fencer and I really enjoy it. Good HAM overall and insane mind regen. As for nice complementing professions, if your going combat then one of the shooting ones, or maybe a medic. I also know a few of the elite fighting professions working on Weaponsmiths, since they have a hard time finding a good one.

I am working on mecomming a Master Musician. It is completely different that combat, you can enjoy the artisan benefits of making things in the form of instruments. And it is a nice relaxing change to have a good jam session in a cantina/hotel instead of the constant grind of fighting.

Pick whichever race you think suits you best. There are no real disadvantages to picking any race (save for wookies not being able to wear armor), only advantages.

If you're up for min/maxing and being pvp lots, Zabraks are good for their inate combat abilities.

If you fancy the idea of having a larger stat pool than everyone else and the ability to scare away the critters, pick a Wookie.

Transhos get regen, rodians get a bonus to both 1h and 2h melee attacks. If you want to be a bit more unique try a mon calamari, bothan or twi'lek. I've seen very few of all three of these.

You'll have much more fun playing a race you're comfortable with than a race which you were "forced" to take because of stats.

I recommend Zabrak, if you're going to have a master medic or doctor fencer. Zabrak is the best racefor being able toeffectively heal themselves while tanking because of their insane willpower (mind regen).Without the high willpower, you won't be able healyourself as much because you'll get mind incapped from using stims (which is the worst type of incap).I have 850 willpower w/ maxed focus. Also, remember that willpoweris only thing that can heal your mind.Well, there are those really weak rare stims (I've never seen them)that drop somewherethat can heal mind damage...At any rate, It's really helps when a rifleman makes you're head bleed.

I recommend a wookie, just put some of those robust health points over to action and a little mind in stat migration.

I'm a Trandoshan working on Medic, Fencer, and Pistoleer. If you want to match up melee with shooting then make sure your ham attacks match. You get body damage with both fencer and pistol. I like to start out with a bleed from my pistol, do a couple of body shots, then switch over to the body attack line of one hand melee, since I haven't made fencer yet. It works out pretty well. I'm currently a master medic but might drop enough points out of it when it comes time so that I can master fencer and pistoleer. I figure though if you want to min max your character then the rodian would be best since it has the one hand melee one hand ranged bonus.
