Thread: Advancing after Master

Like many other Master Fencers, I am having trouble advancing my character. With Master Fencer, Master CH (Use tanks a bit to help w/ taking damage, which is my main problem), and Medic (Not as great as most melee, since we fencers hurt for the blue) , I'm out of skill points. I have a great sword collection, Stick, vibro, and baton, all perfect sliced damage, master WS made. I currently have no armor, other than an ubese shirt and sash, and mk3. I have a few skill mods saved up, but mostly its 1H Speed, which is useless. Haven't messed with the damage, toughness, and counterattack until they sort out the bugs. To other fencers near the cap... how should I advance? Is there a recommended Fencer armor?I'm against trying too many types, because of our problems with HAM costs. Anycertainskill mods I should keep an eye on? Its disheartening seeing my ranged friends solo mobs at par with mine, with only 1 master class, if that. I have plenty of time in the game, but it's mostly for gaining money now. I need another way to advance.

Any maxed character has this problem, not just fencers. And there isn't much eles you can do but gain money and try to PvP as a fencer.

You could try the themeparks.

There are a number of NPC quests.

You could organize player events.

You could find "something" to collect.

You could try and find out what the toughest thing is that you can solo.

You can faction farm.

You can PvP.

You can create an overly detailed analysis of some aspect of the game.

You can experiment with new weapons, or new macros.

You can see how long it takes you to gather 1 Billion Credits. (Be the server's first Billionaire)

You can create a Fencer on another server, but as another race to see how they compare.

Just some suggestions.

I don't really mean, "What is there to do", moreso of, "What can I still do to make my character stronger." We all understand that there are many useless things to do after mastering, such as POI's, themeparks, pvp, PA stuff, most of which I have completed or worn out. The devs have pounded that into our head over and over. But being a millionaire, is there anything that I can work on to increase the power of my character? Whats the armor thats most compatable with a speedy fencer. Which powerups should I shoot for? Any better scheme of classes? Food/drink combo? Good loot spots? What we need is something like EQ's Alternate Advancement, where higher level characters can spend insane amounts of time to raise their character a little, but it still is advancement and gives great control in which way you want to take your character.

Honestly, the biggest negative of the game after master is getting anyone to engage in any group activity. The only reason (for me anyway) that these games have any appeal is that they are social. Most of the activities (PvP aside which is in my opinion currently a mess) Raph mentioned are really solo. At least in my experience most mastered players experience a significant drop off in play time. I started another character on another server for the times when none of my Eclipse companions are about. I think that individual and group achievement activities are really going to be necessary to give this game lasting appeal. I also think that the developers are going to have to seriously rethink both the one character limit and the skill point cap at some point. Having to start over where you are cut off from friends and PA as a condition to trying something new is not much fun. I personally think that the reasons for not allowing multiple characters are silly ones with no real relationship to what customers desire.

If you are as rich as you say, then spend some of that cash and find out what you could do to improve.

I for one have mixed two playstyles into my character. One I wear almost no armor and PvE or PvP. They other I put on a full set of marine armor, all sliced of course and trip to endor. Buff my stats, drink some Tat Sunburn andtake some moun gold and tank. As bes as I can anyway. Both styles require me to macro differently.

Other than skill attachments, which I have yet to find any really worth while, Mixing up food, spice, weapon and armor cominations are about the only way to help your combat.

I read a post on another forum where someone was offering to sell a T21 rifle, made with Krayt tissues for an inordinate sum of credits.

You could talk to a Master Weaponsmith, find out all you can about Krayt tissues and organize hunts to get enough to get your ownKrayt-enhanced one-handed weapon special made. Then you could get it sliced. And you could post about it here and we could all oggle you.

"How powerful can a fencing weapon *really* be?" Find out! ;-)

Not very :-/ I got a perfectD sliced Master WS stun baton w/ enhancement. Itsquite a bit better,30/40 extra damage. What we need is an alternate way of advancing. Or possibly something that stacks up, like rare items which are consumable, +1 to blank. Or more skill points
