Thread: Fencer PvP Damage nerfed?

Well, I decided to try some dueling today, like normal (first time after patch though).
The first person I dueled was a TKA Novice. He must've had some resistances against KD because it took a long time for him to go down. I thought I would pretty much lose because when he was up i was only hitting him for about 40 damage with melee hit 2(with my 89-139 stun batton).
Then he fell down, and I though "perfect, time to do some real damage", much to my surprise though, the max damage I was able to output, with my strongest hit at the moment (melee hit 2, and body hit) was 42, usually in the action. I only won because I warcried when he got up and he was bleeding. Now, I'm a 0/2/0/1 fencer, and this was a novice TKA, no skills yet.
So, figuring it must've just been defenses he'd ammounted, I decided to duel again. This time against a pistoleer. He was immediately able to KD me, and I got up with half life and was able to dizzy KD him back though. I started to spam melee hit 2, and once again, my damage was still ranging in the 40-50s.
This is making me pretty upset. I can't understand why we should be doing under 100 damage with out specials while the opponent is standing up. But even more so, why am I not doing the kind of damage I should be doing while he is KDed. Am I not supposed to be getting major bonuses while an opponent is lying belly up? Before I used to do around 500-800 damage in that position against ranged PvPers. Now I can barely top 60.

i think they've redone PvP damage. which is ok by me. i'm tired of getting two-shot killed with a power hammer. i wouldn't mind the lower damage as long as it's across the board and affects everyone, of course. we'll see how it goes.

42 damage, with a special, against a KDed enemy is ridiculous.
Did I mention both had no armor what-so-ever. Heh, and I was using the Stun Baton. Switched to the gaffi, but even less damage with that.

Currently, PvP damage is being calculated for the 75% damage reduction twice. I have not personally seen anyplace where the devs have announced that this is a bug, but I imagine that it has to be; the majority of special attacks cost more HAM to use than the damage they output.
I expect that it will be fixed in due time.

I noticed.
Don't y'all think its sweet that now our HAM costs are higher than the damage we output? I sure do! It makes so much sense.

Lol, yup.. at 4,4,3,3 I do 90-100 dmg with my 156-287 gaffi using body hit 3.. considering it costs me 124 health to use its not the best deal out there
