Thread: question to Master Fencer / TKA people

hi


i'm a master fencer , master rifleman, medic and have some skillpoints left over.


i was thinking to put them into TKA to get some additional defenses. in particular, i'm interested in Combat Equilibrium and Combat Acuity. i only have enough skillpoints to go 0,3,0,0 for the state and equilibrium, or 0,0,0,3 for the acuity.


so my question is, which is better for fencers from the TKA skills ? added equilibrium or acuity ? which makes more of an impact on the gameplay ?

As of right now, defense acuity is not working properly. It is, however, an issue that hopefully the combatbalance patch will address. My suggestion, is drop a bit of the medic, and go for the entire meditation line. At meditation 4, you can heal your own wounds. That will have the greatest impact on your gameplay whether PvP or PvE.


However, without med 4, meditation is much less desireable, so if you don't want to drop any skillpoints, and can only go up to the third box, then go 0/3/0/0 for now, but keep your eye on how the combat balances affect acuity.

cool, thanks for the info.


i definetly want to keep 1st aid, but not sure if i can scale down to Stim B's. right now i use stim Cs and they are really nice, i can help the docs in group a lot. it wont be like that if i go to Bs.

All player run tests to this point have shown Defensive Acuity, and thusly CenterOfBeing, to provide little to no benefit when used. Are these two abilities working as intended, and if not, what is the future of these two abilities for TKAs.



Defensive Acuity and CenterOfBeing are working, but like the original intent for “tumbling”, changes in the game since those two abilities were put in the game have really caused them to be ineffective tools at the high end of combat. These are two very important melee considerations for the combat balance. A melee artist’s ability to defend him or herself in a galaxy that is focused on ranged combat is a tricky thing. We want it to make sense in that a melee artist has a solid role in combat party make-up and to give the melee artist the tools they need to survive when they aren’t part of a larger combat unit.

Are you sure that Defence Acuity is not working while stacked with fencer. I have it and I beat my two other Fencer friends almost every time we duel, they dont have it. We have the same weapons from the same weaponsmith. And just last night I kicked the CRAP out ofsome rookie noob that was braging that his Ackley Stun Baton Was so Uber. He didn't have it either.


Does anyone know ?


What pisses me off the most is that the Devs wont tell us what's broken and what's not.
