Thread: Role Playing Fencer: Advise Please

Okay I am soon to be starting up a PA in my RP Community soon, basically we're a Police Academy stationed in Mos eisley (no we dont have anyone called 'Hightower' or 'Jonesy' in the PA ) and as all the PA are cops they all have to have Fencing so that they can use stun battons.


Part of the community rules is that buffs are a no go. The uniform for the members is made with lowest encumberance (so that we dont need buffs to wear it) and the rest on kinetic as we're mainly gonna be melee fighting in the city (got about 35-45% kinetic resist on the uniforms which are a mix of padded and chitin).


So I have a few questions if you can advise please:


1) As Fencers wearing the above stuff and no bufs (no one that we fight should be buffed either) and using stun battons, who are the main people that are gonna cause us problems?


2) I have master Fencer/Brawler currently with an Ackley Stun batton and bandolier and shirt with +15 Intimidate/Warcry on each (I heard Intimidate 2 is a good move to have), who is most likely gonna kick my ass? How can I get round it?


3) I was going to have Pistols as my third profession and novice medic to fit with the cop role, would this be a decent template or should I seriously reconsider?


Im a bit of a PvP n00b so:


1) What should I have my HAM at? My secondary stats are about 400 of each I think which means I can just about wear my uniform without the need to buff.


2) What are the best combo's I can use? (my stun batton cripples my HAM attacks)


3) What are some good AA skill tapes I should keep my eye out for? Ideas on prices?

with no buffs its pretty much a throw-up... fencers dodge mods may give you a little bit of an edge but when it comes down to it its all luck. if you will have something like ubese with high kin and low base/lots of vulns you will be open to a lot of people like BH and commandos that can basically kill you in 1 shot using their big dmg weapons if they can actually land a shot on you, but you also might die to a TK spamming specials. without buffs its hard to tell, i just recommend you pick up novice medic along with it so you can heal yourself after spamming specials.

As a Fencer with my baton. I can hit people for 700 dmg with ScatterHit2. It's very unwise I think personally.. to be an unbuffed Fencer. I can drop my HAM before my enemy..


But yes. Go Pistoleer. You'll max out your dode and Defenses that way . And raise your sub stats. Regeneration and lower move cost (Plus Damage Resistance) is always your friend.
