Thread: Why the hell no !good! AP1 weapon for fencer?

I dont get it....why the hell fencer have no good ap1 weapon...if i compare both "lightfooted" combat professions - fencer and pistoleer - there is one big difference...pistoleer weapons have ap1....and if i compare all weapons with stun on it...hell stun-bat ap0....geno blaster ap1 and jawa ion ap2....havin an opponent wearing stun armor and psg...armor and psg works fine against fencers stun-bat....psg works not against geno blaster or jawa ion cause afaik psgs havin no ar and pistols and rifles cut thru them...


So fencer can not attack pure on the mind....havin lower toughness than tka or swords and lack of any good ap1 or godlike ap2 weapons....i think the devs dont like us at all... since most ppl who pvp gettin poison/disease resistance buffs its all about havin janta knifes with fire dots on it...dont get me wrong but fencer shouldn´t be about play like a dot-whorse for dealing some serious damage...


dont want to flame or be offense...thats just my 2cents...

thats why there is a combat rebalance coming since the devs didnt really think about this at all.

Actually geo blaster is AP none (0) and jawa rifle is AP light (1)

I find my role in PVP as a fencer is to stand around with my 450 damage stun baton (pretty good I think)and spam intimidate and warcry while 2h swordsmen, tka's, and yes, even pikemen actually deal damage... In a duel we fencers still do alright, but in group PVP there are others that are more effective in dealing damage. Every now and then you can get a newer jedi to stick around for awhile and take a bit of a beating from you, but if they are master saber, they'll switch to the 1h saber and smash the heck out of your mind, even with pikatta, synthsteak, ent buffs, and a PSG.


I recently looted some good Nym's vibro motors that were +20 damage. I was thinking of making a nice vibro blade (AP1), but did the math and it still came up way short of viable - an acklay gaffi still blows it away for kinetic damage. So, back to gaffis on jedi and batons on non-jedi and using dots to do any real damage. I personally wish that fencer were more viable in dealing damage. Pure fencers, in group PVP, even when using def foods will end up stunned, dizzied, and KD's fast in PVP against good opponents without having done much damage.

vibroblade ap1 loot a ns vibro motor and you got urself a damn good pvp weapon

i dont get the audacity of some people, how about just a /win at novice box?? would that be enuff, at least you are one of the lucky enuff proffesions to get a stun weapon, only people that get them are you, rifleman and pistoleers, all the others have to do it with blast and stun, and we dont even have AP3 like riflemen do, i think pikemen should get an AP3, as the biggest damage dealer of the 4 melee's just like rifleman are the "damage dealers/ biggest weapons" of the ranged they should get an AP3 that comes along with using something that big/powerfull.

I wish. A normal vibroblade of ~180 max + 20 with the enhanced vibro motor = 200 + 30% damage slice =260 + powerup = 300 damage with AP1. That's still less than a decent acklay gaffi at 450 max and the min on the vibroblade is still very low also. I was looking into doing this, but unless I find some better motors, not even +20 motors are going to do the trick.

o yea a stun weapon with no AP against 40% stun psg and 30% or so stun armor is sooooooo the fact is unless you pay 2mil or more credits for an ackley baton the baton is worthless. While on the other hand swordsmen get like 3 AP2 weapons i believe plus the ablity to hit mind, you tell me which is better.


And on the rilfemen due to changes made since launch rilfemen got uber, at one time a riflemen took two times the melee damage than anyone else (that's some major damge when you think about it) but when the took that away rilfemen became uber. I agree with pikemen getting an AP3 weapon but don't hate fencers since we know we arn't uber like a TK/ swordmen

lol, i hate poeple that whine about low damage, we arent suposoed to be high damage, get a **edit**ing dot weapon and pwn, sure thats pathetic, but thats the only way we can pvp

in duels fencers can still do pretty well, but since they "fixed" scatterhit, and everyone who pvp's started using a 40 stun PSG, 40 stun armor and synthsteak, stun weapons are not that good anymore. But the second that PSG and synthsteak wear out, a good stun baton will still do the job pretty well
